Tom's estimate was slightly lower than the actual expense but he held to his original quote. I especially liked his figuring of cost savings on materials and concrete subcontractor. His suggestions proved beneficial but he also respected my wishes even when he did not agree with them. The process was actually fun for me and the outcome is so impressive and I know the ROI on decks is very high so it was a great investment to enjoy and someday for resale.
Description of Work: Tom Peterson constructed a large new deck 12x72 with electric and with lantern and rope lighting. I selected this contractor because of his resume of design/engineering education and decades of hands-on construction experience and personal integrity. He personally designed, estimated, coordinated concrete footings, ordered all materials, trimmed and screwed in the decking, and installed all PVC railings and electrical and lighting fixtures.... I did most of the painting to keep contract amount down.
