Travel Agencies, Auto Towing Service
My wife was on her way to work on I-4 Monday morning November 23rd when her car became disabled due to a blown transmisson. Fortunately, she was able to get the car off to the shoulder along the busy interstate. The ordeal that followed was not so fortunate. Upon calling AAA at 9a to request assistance, she was told that her call would be a "priority" because of the car being on I-4. AAA promised to have a tow truck arrive no later than 11:40a. (Almost 3 hours from the time of the initial call, even though we were a "priority.") I came down to wait with my wife, assuming that eventually a tow truck would arrive. About two hours later, we called AAA for a status check and were told that they had not been able to find anyone to take our "ticket" and that it might be an hour or more longer. And so we waited, and waited. Approximately three hours into this "priority" roadside (lack of) assistance call, I called AAA myself to find out how much longer it might be. To my disbelief, I was told that they still had not been able to find anyone willing to come out. The person I initially spoke to attempted to put the blame on the tow operators for not being willing or able to handle our call. She did say that sometimes AAA has to seek out non-contracted providers if they are unable to get anyone on their regular list of tow-operators to respond. I asked her how many more hours she expected us to sit on I-4 before it might be a good idea to start calling some providers that weren't on the regular list of responders. I also asked to speak with a supervisor, who was extremely apologetic. Remarkably, it wasn't ten minutes later that a tow truck operator from Clermont called to say he had just been contacted by AAA and would be on scene in 20 minutes to handle our call. Later, he told us that he had driven right by us earlier that morning on I-4 and could have helped then....but was never called until several hours later. In AAA's defense, perhaps they did do the best they could. But if this is truly the best they could do for a "priority" call o I-4, then their service has very little value in my book. So, a word to the wise, next time you're stranded on I-4, just call AAA and 4 hours and multiple calls with a supervisor later, you too might just receive the roadside assistance you've been paying for all these years. (*The preceding is a true story, none of the names or locations have been changed to protect the innocent.)

I use AAA for travel stuff,we are actually in the process of booking a vacation. AAA has been really helpful. They are really the only one I have ever had experience with. We tried to actually look up some other travel places but they are hard to come by these days. We are planning a big vacation to Europe so we went over to the AAA because I am a member. They are very helpful, very informative. The charge depends on the vacation you pick. We haven't nailed down what kind of vacation we are going to do, we are just exploring different options. They have a lot of really good information and stuff. I have been a member of AAA for over ten years. Mainly for my wife and my kids, so if we get a flat when we are driving or something, AAA can come and help them out. I have had occasion to use them in the past, my car stalled out once. They had to come and tow me away. It's kind of good back up.
