MVP AUTO DEALER

I went in on Mon. armed with printouts of everything that I found. 1st i asked him to show me the title for the Van and he said yes. We went inside and, at first, they were having a problem locating it. Then they found it and showed me what looked like a clean title. Then I asked him for the keys to the van b/c my husband wanted to look at something on the van (he wanted to double check the odometer reading), we went outside to the van and my husband looked at the odometer again and told me that yes it had been rolled back b/c it was reading 094??? (can't remember what the last 3 digits were) and then I showed the CARFAX report to him again and pointed out the last reported mileage, he stated he knew nothing about the odometer being rolled back and took me back inside to look at the title again to see if it had mileage reported on it, there was not any mileage on the title anywhere. I then showed him the printout of what Kelly Blue Book said it was worth ($3745 in GOOD condition) with the mileage being 194??? (since this was a rough guess as to what the actual mileage would be) and he pointed out that the one I had was PRIVATE PARTY value and that retail would be double that, which I don't believe and I even checked it and it was $5445 in EXCELLENT condition at retail value but I would not call this van EXCELLENT, there were stains in the carpet and some of the interior is discolored, the pinstriping on the exterior was chipping and pealing and there was some scratches. He was not willing to budge on the price even though it was a SALVAGE at one point and when I mention that, he just kept telling me that they do not buy SALVAGE vehicles, obviously they do based on the CARFAX report I pulled. Since he would not dropped the price and work with me based on the information I found on the vehicle, I asked for my money back that I already gave them and to cancel the deal then and he did refund my money and cancel the deal for me. I heard him say, under his breathe as he walked away, "I knew I was going to loose money on this vehicle" and that tells me that he knew about all this prior to me bringing it to his attention. FINAL THOUGHTS: My advise and what I will do from now on is, make sure to do your research on a vehicle BEFORE giving any money or signing anything and even though I know it is not cheap, pull a CARFAX on any vehicle you are serious about buying when buying a USED vehicle b/c it can save you a lot of money and headaches. I paid $35 to pull the report and saved myself $4200 and possibly a big headache.
