We've lived in this area for 12 years now and have used Florida Pest Control on multiple occasions across the years. Each time their initial service was excellent. They were prompt, courteous, informative, and seemingly on target with their treatment plans. The problem with this company arises not with the initial service, but with ongoing service appointments. They either show up and provide poor service, or fail to show up again at all, forcing the customer to call back and push the issue.
For the ants, the technician did an excellent job of locating and isolating the source of the infestation. He sprayed and distributed granules for the problem, but it had virtually no impact. Weeks later, we spent additional monies in an attempt to resolve the issue ourselves, but it persists.
The larger issue, with an armadillo tearing up the yard; we were advised to pay for a quarterly program to eliminate pests in the ground that were their food source and attracting them digging for grubs. The tech told us that we would not see immediate results, but that the issue would resolve over time, with a noticeable drop of activity over the first application, and virtually zero activity after the second application. That second application was completed on 8/5/15, and armadillo activity is WORSE than ever. The second servicing was performed while our backyard was completely flooded (under several inches of water) and on a rainy day to boot. In other words, it had zero effect because it wasn't even possible for the tech to treat the entire yard, much less to do so effectively. However, he did so and signed off on the treatment while we were not home.
I have found that this is a common issue with the company. Subsequent services are shoddy, and as others have stated, they invest a lot of time in trying to upsell additional products instead of providing good service on existing contracts. I had not used them in several years and thought I'd try them again in hopes that this attitude might have changed, but I find that it hasn't. I cannot, in good conscience, recommend Florida Pest Control.
