Of the four bids I received, Ray Pack of Bryant Roofing was the only roofer who quoted a metal roof. I had no knowledge whatsoever of metal roofs. He told me they were more energy efficient and that the cost was comparable to shingle roofing because the cost of petroleum (used to make shingles) makes the cost competitive and that they last longer. I asked him why the other roofers had not suggested metal and he said it was probably a matter of specialty and that his company's business is primarily metal because he feels it is a better product. His quote was comparable to the shingle roof I was considering. Well, that was back in January. I did my due diligence and researched profusely on the internet, called my insurance company, called FPL, talked to an engineer friend, etc. At each juncture, I called Ray with more questions. He patiently took the time to answer all of my questions. When I checked out his answers, they were confirmed by my research. Ray did not try to sell me the more expensive items, and even when I asked about one particular version of metal roofing that would have been more costly, both in the product and the installation, he steered me away from it citing reasons of value and energy efficiency. (The issue was about classic rib design versus standing seam). He really knows his business and has the patience to field questions and address concerns.
When it was finally time to have the roof put on, his crew came and did the job efficiently and promptly. I feel very good about having this metal roof that will last 40 years or more, be more energy efficient and better for the environment, and was totally affordable. I recommend Bryant Roofing without reservation. I believe they are a company with great integrity and skill and a work ethic that is grounded in solid values that seem to sincerely want to give their best expertise to their customers
