We had a signed contract, Dave Phillips kept pushing us for more money, he said he needed most of the money up front to pay his crew for his small business. He tells you he is old school and does work with a handshake. We had him to sign a contract but it didn't matter. We paid him everything per contract except $1500 and he never finished the job. This was a 6-8 week job, after week 6 work slowed to a crawl. After 2 months he would send his son, Shawn Phillips, for one half day per week and then after 5 months he just stopped coming. We scheduled meetings, took off work and he would not show. Eventually he would not return phone calls or texts. The work was shoddy to say the best. We have paid thousands to finish and then to re-do the work by Dave Phillips. The pictures show how he left our home and how much he cares about his work. The tile work all needed to be re-done. He stained our hardwood floors and the stain came up immediately, a professional floor contractor showed us how they were never sanded, he applied the stain on top of the existing polished floors. He left big holes in the wall. They also never sanded or textured the wall, just painted right over their patches. He left electrical boxes open and I have 3 small children. He used our laundry tub to clean up paint, was to be replaced anyway but never done. I have hundreds of pictures of his work and documentation, BEWARE OF DAVID PHILLIPS!
