I had been searching for a top of the line business computer system for a while, to replace an old laptop that was having problems. I soon realized that no system I found offered everything exactly as I needed, so I decided to contact a local computer shop to see if I could have a custom system built at a reasonable price. I thought it was also important to deal with someone who could have any problems fixed in a timely fashion because I was going to depend on the system a great deal.
I contacted Rob, the owner, who has been in business for a long time and was very knowledgeable. We wrote up my specifications and the next day he gave me a good price, basically his cost for parts plus a percentage of that cost as labor and support.
Within 10 days he had the system built EXACTLY as I wanted, nothing extra, nothing taken away. It is a system that is cutting edge and will do everything I need and then some in my business. The price was very reasonable. And, to prove the point about service, I was having issues with the video card, so I dropped it of in the evening and picked it up the next day, new video card and running like a champ, covered under warranty of course.
Might I have saved a couple of dollars at a big box store? Sure, but not gotten the exact system I wanted, and then having the hassle of upgrading one of those cookie-cutter systems, and any returns or service needed would have been a hassle.
I am very happy I chose to go with a custom system, and glad I chose Xtreme computers to build the system I wanted.
