Upon entering Marie Antoinette's Furniture on Northlake Blvd yesterday I was treated so rudely, I will never go back in this store again. While this is how I now feel, I have to say I have visited this store several times since it does have some interesting pieces. this is how the conversation went in front of me, between a Sales Assoc and the Manager. The manager( I assume she was the manager as she always seems to be there when I have gone in the past) asked me what I was looking for. I said I was interested in small and side tables and a coffee table in the Mid Century Modern style. The sales associate came out and asked the manager what I was looking for. When the manager told her Mid Century Modern the sales associate said " What's that?", manager said "like 1950's style". Sales Assoc said while making a disgusting face to show her dislike of the style said, " oh that's ugly, that's a fad, it's not going to last", That's all that was at Highpoint Furniture Market last week and that's why market was Crap this year". She went on to say " it's all white leather and chrome, cold really cold and let me tell you chrome won't do well in Florida". The manager said " oh, it's not warm". The sales associate then turned and walked away from me, the phone rang and the manager excused herself and walked away. These two women carried on this conversation as if I wasn't standing right there. Presumably if Mid Century Modern is all that was featured, or was the majority of what was featured at Highpoint Furniture Market this year the furniture makers around the world see there is an overwhelming demand for this style. I would think that they may know something that these two women may not. Also, whatever happened to CUSTOMER SERVICE? It shouldn't matter what style a person is looking for, or if that style is a personal favorite of the sales staff. Is it not the job of sales people to SELL? Or if not to sell, then how about simply being POLITE? I did not confront these two rude women. I simply left the store never to return again. I will tell everyone I can, and will post on every possible review site on the internet to inform people what I experienced yesterday. Currently we own 3 homes. I have been designing ,building, renovating and decorating homes for a very long time. This is not my first rodeo.......
