My dryer needed a part replaced. But the technician never tested the dryer to see if it was working before he left. He failed to reconnect the vent and didn’t notice that the gas was turned off. Who leaves a repair before testing it? Luckily I had my handyman available. Who is able to reattach the vent and he was the one who noticed the gas was turned off not the technician. When I called all American appliance asking for them to compensate me for what I had to pay my handyman they refused. This is incompetency and bad business practice at worst.

Had All American Appliance out for an initial repair on a Kitchen Aid gas dryer. Explained the issue to the technician and left him to do the repair. Came back a few minutes later and he was listening to a youtube video on repairing the dryer. He told me it was the ignitor kit that needed replacing and so he replaced it. The total repair was $200.34. Three weeks later, the dryer stopped heating once again, I called All American Appliance and made an appointment for them to come back out as the dryer was not heating. Contrary to their website, the technician will not give you a call prior to coming out unless you request it! They gave me a window for the service which was 8:30 a.m. - 12 Noon. He arrived at 11:20 a.m. It was the same technician as last time and I explained that the dryer had stopped working and after inspecting the dryer, he fixed it and indicated that the thermal fuse was bad and that must have been what was going bad all along. He had replaced the thermal fuse and indicated that the charge would be $136.74. I asked why I was being charged for another part when he had made a mistake and replaced the wrong piece initially. He said that was the charge for the part and without it the dryer would not work at all. I paid him for the job and then called the office after he left to discuss what had transpired. I spoke with a woman by the name of Allison who said she would need to speak with the manager and she would have the manager call me back. Allison called me back a couple hours later and said that both her and the manager had spoken to the technician and he said that the dryer had needed an ignitor kit initially and then the thermal fuse, but instead of the $136.74, she would only charge me $50 for the repair. I asked her why I was being charged for the job when the technician had been incorrect in his assessment of the initial repair. She told me I was wrong in comprehending what the technician had told me, which was interesting, as she was not present for the conversation. She proceeded to be very argumentative and rude and told me that the manager would need to speak to the technician and call me back. Today I am seeing a charge for $136.74 and the manager has not gotten in touch. Clearly the management of this company does not value feedback from customers. And as a company that should employ some level of customer service, their front line of contact should not be Allison, as if there is a problem, she is ill equipped to handle it with any level of customer service or decorum. DO NOT hire this company. You too can visit YouTube and view a repair video and go to Home Depot and buy the part that the video tells you is needed.....or you can choose another repair company. Update: I disputed the charge with my credit card company. I received a call from the manager then and in explaining what had happed, he got frustrated and told me to go F*@% yourself and hung up. VERY PROFESSIONAL! DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY!

We had a problem that our freezer was not cooling and making noise. Their folks came out and diagnosed this as a bad freezer motherboard which they replaced for $329. This seemed to fix it. About 3 weeks later, the ice maker started spitting out ice without stopping. They came out again, diagnosed it as another electronic component. They did not charge for that service call but came out again a week or so later and replaced the component again for $222 at a regular charge. Then about 10 days later, the original problem returned in that the refrigerator was making a loud banging noise. When I called them, they said they could not commit to any type of warranty repair. This upset my wife who promptly took a screwdriver, opened up the inside of the freezer, and saw that the original problem appeared to be a leaky hose which was slowly dripping water down the back of the freezer inside and out, eventually blocking the fan from working. She fixed the hose with some plumbers tape and now everything appears to be OK. She has no training in appliance repair. I think the original problem diagnosed was not correct. I think this deal with the icing of the freezer was probably the original problem blocking the fan from working properly. I also think this problem should have been spotted in the first repair either way. It was pretty obvious to us once we looked, and it looked like it had been there for a while based on the water stains we saw on the outside. I think the initial resolution only appeared to work as the refrigerator was off long enough to melt the ice in the back enough so the fan started working again. I also find it odd that soon after the first repair a second repair was needed in the same general area but in a different part. I cannot say that it's not just coincidence, but our refrigerator is only three years old so it is odd. All that said, what really bothers me about this company was how quickly they threw their 30 day warranty in our face, that they seemed to take little responsibility for their prior work, that despite the urgency of the situation we were placed in the regular queue and told no one could come for 2 days, and basically were ready to come out and charge us again even for the service call (which I asked them to waive understanding parts is parts) but they would not commit to. It gave me the feeling like dealing with them is a buyer beware type of situation. I'd personally rather deal with a company that stands behind their work as a top priority. At this point we'd paid them $551 in total, the original problem returned as the repair was either incorrect or incomplete, and I suspect the second problem was related to the first repair. We will not use them again.

I called All American for service and was pleasantly surprised when the tech arrived at my door about an hour later. I was pleased with the tech as he was very pleasant and he explained to me exactly what the problem was. I was very happy and elated with my service. I called back today and given a 10% senior discount that really confirmed to me what a great company All American is,
