They removed existing cabinets, moved a small wall and cut back a section of a second wall, installed new cabinets, provided new granite countertops, backsplash and fireplace tile and some builtin cabinets.  These were great people to work with, beginning to end.  I used several groups on this home remodeling project prior to finding Workhorse, and these guys were without question the best of the people I hired.  They were the easiest to deal with, smart, experienced and trustworthy.  I had no problem leaving them a key to the house and having them work while I was at work.  DJ was fair in handling issues that came up.  Some potential add ons were expensive and I opted to do the work myself, which was fine.  I used to do a lot of carpentry and building 25-30 years ago and am too slow at this point to do a big project, and it was great to be able to hire someone that cared about the job as much as I do. Overall excellent quality, fair dealings, honest and trustworthy. I'd give them a very high recommendation.

It's rare to come across a service provider in my opinion that you instantly trust.  DJ, the owner of Workhorse Projects, is that guy.  From the moment you meet him you know he is fair, honest, and flexible.  Our family feels really lucky that we've been able to connect with him to have work done.  Either he or his staff have helped us with any small projects we've needed done in the past 3 years, and even though they do big jobs as well they have treated our small jobs as priority and done an excellent job.  Most recently we used one of his staff to refinish and paint our metal column and scroll work on the front of our 1937 house.  It was a nasty job that took ALL day - and the person he sent had a great attitude and did not take any shortcuts - he wanted to make sure it was done correctly.  We are so pleased with Workhorse Projects and will use them for anything we need done in the future!

I have worked with Workhorse Projects since 2008. As a designer, I recommend them to my clients for general contract work of all kinds. As a homeowner I trust them in my own home and have exceeded my expectations every time. They show up on time, complete the tasks proposed, and clean up after themselves. They work on budget which is often a concern for clients. Most importantly they do the job right. If for some reason there is a mistake there is no question that someone will be back to fix it because they take pride in their work. It is extremely rare to find a company that stays on budget and goes the 100% for customer satisfaction. That is why I use Workhorse Projects and refer them every time.
I've had the pleasure of watching their team grow and the only thing that reason I attribute that to is how good of a job they do.

Workhorse arrived on time, finished the job in a timely manner and
cleaned up after the job. The job was done in a quality way, they
sprayed on the product and backrolled it which was the recommended
application by Sherwin Williams. Trim was painted in a contrasting
color.
Staff brought all of their own supplies with the exception of the paint which we said we would supply.
The price was reasonable for the amount of work that was done.

My initial contact with this company was with and quot;Timand quot; the painter. Based on the pictures I sent him and the general description Tim was able to give me a verbal quote. A week later, someone from the company came out to give me a formal estimate on the crown molding and installation of the knobs. The person who showed up, did not know I had already spoken to Tim about my project. It took several emails and a couple of phone calls to get the appropriate quote. The first quote did not outline all of the work I wanted done. The second quote that was sent to me was incorrect, because it was using another client's layout. After I got the correct quote, the team arrived on the work site on time as promised. They were respectful of the house and work area. The project lasted three days and Tim showed up on time each day as promised. After Tim painted and cleaned up, he also installed the kitchen cabinet hardware.
I was very satisfied with the work that was completed. It started and ended on time. The paint and crown molding installation was flawless.

During an overzealous shower tile scrubbing, I managed to remove some of the grout. A fellow Angie's List member referred me to D.J. He was very thorough over the phone about what he could do and how much it would cost. He came by a couple of days later and brought several caulk colors, one which matched perfectly. The caulk he uses has the consistency of grout, but will have more flexibility (and won't crack like the grout did). He resealed the shower and gave me tips for removing mildew and preventing future mold. The entire project took about an hour, and I would definitely use him again.

They arrived and provided an estimate that included all materials. They discussed our paint color choice that would best fit our needs. They also described the quality of the material they would be using and also each step of the process was explained before the contract was signed. They arrived as promised and all during the process they would discuss with us what was going on for that period. They also requested that we inspect the process as it was ongoing and please write down anything we saw that needed correction or attention. At the end of the job they took us around the entire home and got or approval before leaving the area. They gave us a choice of paying the painter, mailing in the payment or being invoiced. The quality and attention to detail was outstanding. I recommended them to out next door neighbor and after the job was completed on our home the neighbor, seeing the finished product, requested an estimate also. We feel very fortunate that we selected such a professional and personable group to perform this expensive job.
