I don't know if I got it through Angie's List. I want to say they came out 10 times per year. My lawn did not seem to get any better. There was no improvement in the yard. They fertilized my yard for about four months.
"My name is Matt Siprelle and I am the owner of Trutco. I wanted to thank you for the sincere feedback you have provided regarding our service. I looked up our treatment records and we serviced your lawn a total of 4 times from May 7th to August 16th. When I called you the night before September’s service, you informed me you had already gone with another provider. Unfortunately, at this point it was too late to save your business. Had I known your lawn wasn’t looking as you expected I would have loved the opportunity to walk the lawn with you, better understand your expectations, and come up with an agreed upon solution. We see lawn care as a series of seasonal objectives that when put together reach the long term goal of having a healthy and great looking lawn. Every season and application is important to reaching that goal. On May 7th we started your service and applied a full fertilizer, weed treatment, and insect application to the entire lawn. In June we shifted our seasonal objective to the suppression of sod webworms. You may notice all the major local and national lawn care company’s in Jacksonville begin advertising sod webworm treatments around the end of June. They are chronic here in Jacksonville, and the end of June through August is considered the peak of sod webworm season. When understanding our treatment plan it is important to note the University of Florida’s research on Sod Webworms states: "Excessive fertilizing is a leading cause of outbreaks in lawns” & “control should be against damaging larva, not the flying moths” (Cultural Controls, Chemical Controls: https://edis.ifas.ufl.edu/in968.) Because treatment targets “damaging” larva, prevention is unfortunately not possible. This puts our service in more of a defensive mode temporarily. We replace nitrogen fertilizer with iron fertilizer, apply a contact residual insecticide, and spot treat (rather than broadcast) weed applications. Many lawn companies do not treat weeds at all during this period. Broadcasting a herbicide on top of an insect population is one of the main reason’s lawn companies kill lawns. Suppression of sod webworms with regular treatments is highly effective and critical to the overall health of your lawn. In Jacksonville, Sod Webworms populations begin to naturally decline in September and sharply decline in October. Our service returns to full nitrogen fertilization and broadcast weed treatments at this time. Our long term goal on all properties is to strengthen turf and increase density over time through seasonally appropriate fertilization, weed treatments, and insect suppression. Although we were only able to service your lawn for a short period of time, and felt as though we were reaching our seasonal objectives, we failed to see the lawn through your eyes and take full responsibly for any failure in communication. I sincerely appreciate your positive reviews on our professionalism, punctuality, responsiveness, and price."
