David Vick was our project manager, and his dedication to our job was evident from the first time that he showed up at the property to meet -- he was 10 minutes early and continued to be early or on time for all other appointments throughout the duration on the job. David, Clay and the team do a very nice job of making decisions on their own and engaging you only when they need you. I ended up with both my dream kitchen and my dream bathroom. David's subs were awesome. The painter spent literally weeks in our garage hand-sanding all of the brand new cabinets that they built for us. His carpenter also built amazing shelving and a new mantel in the family room and reconfigured our kitchen to incorporate a new handmade wood range cover and wine bar. David and Clay both did a great job communicating and responding to inquiries during the job. They also took the final punch list very seriously...anything that wasn't right, they wanted to make right. For example, the sub who handled the stamped concrete in front of our home messed up the paint on the exterior of the house. Clay personally hand-painted the entryway to cover the areas where the stamped concrete intruded.I would hire them again in a heartbeat.

The overall project was a work in progress. Had some issues with interpretation of what the contract read vs. work performed. In the end, they made it right. TT worked with our schedule most of the time, which is more than I can say for other contractors I have dealt with in the past. The workmanship and professionalism of the workers was outstanding. They always seemed to remember they were working in a home, where someone actually lived while they worked. Very respectful. I'm rating TT a "fair" on pricing as they were the highest bid, but you also get what you pay for in the end.

Our home was hit hard by hurricane Matthew. A 100 year old oak tree fell on the front of our house causing a lot of structural and water damage, inside and out. It seemed like the end of the world for us, but after meeting the first time with Dale (Trout project supervisor), we both felt very confident that Trout was the right choice. The demand for roofers and carpenters was very high in the aftermath of hurricane Matthew, but Dale worked hard to put us back together as quickly as possible. He has an amazing eye for detail and made sure all work was done in a quality manner. The final result is that our home is better now than before the hurricane. We plan on doing some re-modelling work later in the year and would definitely trust Trout to do the work for us.

The BEST. Tom Trout is most likely the most expensive contractor you will contact but they are worth it. Everything was done to my satisfaction. I paid along the way and at the end of the project they sent me a check for 20,000 because I had overpaid them. WOW!!!! Honest, excellent quality, on time, constant communication, and they cleaned up the area when they were done. I told them that I choose them because of their sign on 1-95 and their words of wisdom. They were worth every dime I paid them. If I did another project, I would only choose them.

We now have our dream kitchen- better than we ever imagined. We have done multiple renovations with Tom Trout- every part of our house- and he stands behind his work. His Foreman Jeff did everything he could to make what could have been a painful project living without a kitchen for months as easy as possible. All of his employees and sub-contactors were professional and took great efforts to minimize our inconvenience and always cleaned up after their work. Tom himself visited our house at least once a week, some weeks more often, and Jeff was here almost daily or he was in daily touch by phone, Tom helped us every step of the way with all aspects including going with us to pick out products. I highly recommend Tom Trout, Inc!

Tom Trout was not the lowest quote we received-- they were the highest, but they provided us with the most detail, answered all questions, provided great information and suggestions and we were most comfortable moving forward with our first ever renovation project with them. The project manager assigned was great, no issues with communication or with finding information or providing options/solutions for us. No issues with any of the folks that provided specific services other than tthe tile guy didnt seem to be able to produce the floor tile we wanted at a cost that was anywhere close what i could walk into a retail store and purchase it for which didnt make sense to me (same issue with the shower tile) BUT he did a fantastic job on the install and we have no complaints with the finished project.

both jobs went very smoothly; the bathroom reno ran into a few delays that were in no way the fault of TT. every person, whether TT employee or subcontractor, was professional and did everything to make sure we were happy.

We had 4 issues that needed to be addressed.  They presented us with a detailed plan.  They followed the plan & there were no surprises.  At every step of the way, they told us what was going on & when the repairs would be complete.  Their workers were on time & very professional.  They lived up to their word and we were very happy with their work.

In addition, they saved us a tremendous amount of money on the job.  We had another company quote on just leveling the floors & their price was almost $25,000 more than what we were charged by Tom Trout.  I would recommend Tom Trout to anyone seeking honest answers & dependable work.

Tom Trout's professionalism is why we hired him. During his presentation he brought a big packet showing past work. Other contractors brought their tool belt, nothing else. Trout lived up to his reputation. The room is beautiful, exactly what we wanted.

Tom Trout worked well and were very accommodating. Their initial estimate was also very close to the actual cost. I am very pleased with the end result and would recommend them.
