"I had my sales manager and two installers meet with the customer to discuss her claim that the awning caused the water damage (we did not install the awning or flashing originally and were just contracted to provide a new fabric cover). She had just purchased the home and had not yet moved in. It was evident that the water damage existed for quite a while attested to by the tile contractor when he removed the old tile. The window frames above the awning had holes from water damage. We did have to raise the flashing slightly to slide the old fabric off and the new fabric underneath (customer did not contract for new flashing). We then caulk all seams. After a rain, it was not wet under the awning, just inside, so water had seemed to be entering above the awning. We were contracted on 3/31/2010 and installed the awning on 4/15/2010. We met with the customer on 6/9/2010 to discuss her complaint. The amount of water damage she claimed the awning caused could not have an 8 week period. We tried to be helpful and resolve the problem but the customer was very rude and condescending to my employees."
