Chris, our technician was one of the most professional and capable individuals we have met. He was polite, explained in appropriate detail (and showed us) the problems, and helped us understand out options. After reviews of various brands, we decided not to replace our system with another Lennox a/c.

They found that the unit had no leaks that they could detect (?). However they had to add about 5 pounds of 410A coolant (modern freon type gas) which they then charged a small fortune for. They charge about $90 per pound. That's $450 for the gas alone. But I can buy the same exact gas from Amazon, a whole 25 pound tank for $150, any day of the week. This shows that the cost of the gas is much, much lower than what they are charging. Their cost to a checkup is not cheap either, about $160. I would suggest calling Air McCall for checkups.

It went well. They do a good install which results in a good performing heat pump - working well over many years.

It has been two years now and the indoor and outdoor units have performed perfectly. This unit is the Lennox top-of-the-line. The installation was flawless and the technicians were informative and professional. Their price beat out two other companies prices by 10 and 20 percent. Thigpen also installed an earlier Lennox unit (XP19) eight years ago on the other end of the house. It is also running well.

They are excellent. I have actually turned three of four other people on to them. They were so thorough, much more than anybody I had used before them. They were right on time. From what I even understand, and I haven't had to utilize them in the middle of the night or on a weekend, from what I understand, their service fees stay the same, that's real good, you don't find that too often.

They are great. They remind me when service is due. They will have you call them to make the appointment. When you make the appointment, they are very prompt. They are very flexible in their appointments, to when you can have morning and afternoon. They do an great job. When they leave, you would never know that they were here.

We purchased 2 units from Thigpen in 2009 for $12,000. We were never told that we needed to register the units with Lennox to extend the warranty to 10 years from the basic 5 year warranty. At 7 years, one of the units stopped cooling. We called them for repairs but they were not able to come until the next day. We had guests coming in town and needed it repaired immediately so we had another company come out to repair the unit. We were told the coils were bad but the unit should be under warranty since it was less than 10 years old. Upon calling Lennox about the warranty, we were told the units were never registered so there was only a 5 year warranty. I called Thigpen and spoke with Mike Gunter, the General Manager, and explained the situation. I asked if there was anything they could do to make it right and he told me it was not his responsibility to register the units. I asked him if he had any intention of trying to make it right by the client and he told me he "could not eat $1600 for repairs or $2800 for a new unit". He was happy to cash my $12,000 check for the new units but had no desire to provide the level of customer service we thought we were getting when we purchased the units.

It took a couple of callbacks to get small little issues with the system worked out. Everything is fine now. The installation was fine, it was the setup after they did all the install. It took a little time to get it right. They came right out and fixed it.

Never use this company again.
My primary residence has 2 lennox for 18 years now.  Almost 3 years ago, I replaced one of the units.  I like the salesman Steve so I subsequently replaced one more lennox for one of my rental property.  Just after one year warranty expired, the rental property?s lennox air blower broke.  I have to pay for the labor cost to replace the broken parts (parts are in warranty).  This year, my primary residence?s new lennox lost cooling ability.  I had another reputable company check the problem and they identified the leak in evaporator coil.  Since this is still under 10 years warranty on parts, I called Thigpen to do the warranty work.  First, their service department never returned my call.  When I called back, Pam in service department insisted I pay another $84 service charge to have their tech to verify the leak problem even after I had already spoken to their technician.
Eventually, I found another local lennox dealer to perform the warranty service without this unnecessary so called service charge.
Thigpen?s sales people and technicians are first notch and very knowledgeable people.  However, it is their back office clerk who think she is the BIG SHOT that eventually made me take my business elsewhere.  By the way, it was only a $460 repair job this time; however, I will never buy any new unit from this company again.
If you want to use this company?s services, just pray that you never need to call their office for the warranty services.

We have had experience with Thigpen Heating and Cooling Inc. They actually installed an air conditioner in my mother's house, or what used to be my mother's house. It has been a couple of years ago. I thought they were very reasonable at the time. They came and did what they were supposed to do. I liked them. I guess they were fair with the price. They did a good job. I had to meet them there so I know they must have been on time. They were there. I would use this provider in the future if need be.

We called them to fix our ac unit. They came on time, diagnosed the issue and they determined I needed a new ac unit as it was too old. This were they got slippery. They knew I wouldn't get the rebate from my electric company if I went with them. Instead of being honest, they said it was my responsibility to work with my electric company to get the rebate. Later after the job which was professionally done, I called my electric company and they said they only work with contractors and not home owners. They sympathized with me and said contractors do this to win work and by the time homeowner realizes, the work is over. The rebates are in the order of magnitude of $700. When I hired them, they were $500 more expensive than others, but I thought they were trustworthy but I was wrong.
