***POOR QUALITY & NO FOLLOW THROUGH ON PROMISE*** I spent $6,000 on May 1st 2022 to have my lanai room concrete floor resurfaced by "The Resurfacing Company" and wish I hadn't. I had 3 quotes from 3 companies $1,800, $2,400, and $6,000. Rodd the owner sold me on his decades of experience given I was about to spend approximately 3 times what the other companies quoted. The job was completed on 5/1/22. At the time, Rodd said to me that he wanted to add another coat of sealer to the floor because the original one he applied wasn't enough and that he would do it in the fall of 2022 when it's cooler. I didn't like that but took him for his word because he's charismatic. By 5/21/22 there were numerous spots where the sealer/coating were rubbing off. I put a pair of rubber soled boots on the floor and within 24 hours there were numerous spots where it pulled the sealer and coating right off and we now have white spots. Furthermore, I got a new grill in March 2023 and the rubber wheels easily create numerous spots on the floor and it looks super bad. On top of that, there is a crack that is approximately 8 inches long that has appeared which isn't supposed to happen. We have been so stressed with the floor, and we take every single precaution to ensure no further damage is done. We put skid pads on all the furniture, we never power wash, but that doesn't matter due to the poor quality of the work. It's clear that Rodd's instinct was correct that it needed another coat of sealer. I've been contacting him ever since October 2022 via many texts, and he gives every excuse in the book on why he won't follow through on his word to add the extra coat of sealer or repair the damaged spots. The favorite excuse he uses is he has a "commercial job" that he's been working on for several months. I don't expect perfection, but for $6,000 I do expect the floor to hold up as promised. I expect a company to keep their word. Sadly, this company doesn't do that.

Concrete pad was removed and replaced. There was an issue with an unplanned wall that was removed. A price was only agreed upon after the work was performed

Rodd was very professional and did a great job matching the old pool deck area with the new concrete we had poured. Everything looks uniform and brand new, we really like how it turned out.

This experience was fantastic from the start.  Rodd came out right away to do the estimate for the job, which was initially just the countertops.  His estimate was so reasonable and he left such a good impression that we decided to redo our flooring as well.  We were remodeling our kitchen, so we had an odd timeline (particularly for the countertops).  He was very flexible and worked with us throughout the projects.  He even squeezed us in to do flooring before the Thanksgiving holiday.
Rodd was professional, courteous, and happily answered my endless questions.  He spent a few days prepping the floors and the walls to minimize any chance of damage or inconsistencies in the concrete.  Once prepped, he added a base layer to ensure the concrete would adhere and level.  He blows in the concrete, which creates a gorgeous stippling effect that looks a bit like rippling water.  We decided to be bold and go with a black floor.  Rodd sprayed on three layers of the color, asking us about the color after each layer.  He then added two clear coats and finally two or three coats of wax.  This was far and above the work we were quoted from other concrete providers.  We now have a fantastic shiny black floor that is not at all slippery.  He even left us extra color and wax if we ever have to do touch ups over the years. 
Not surprisingly, the concrete countertops exceeded our expectations, too.  Prior to the flooring, Rodd came out to measure out the countertops.  He showed us some of his prior work so we could select the coloring.  He also brought samples for the edging.  He actually created a template on site to ensure proper measurements.  Once he started work on the countertops, he even sent us pictures to keep us abreast of the progress (we were very excited throughout the process).
Throughout both projects, Rodd refused to compromise the integrity of his work.  As a result, Rodd ended up doing more work than he originally anticipated.  For example, the top clear coat (of three!) of the countertops began to bubble while it cured (the weather suddenly became very humid).  In response, he could have just removed that layer and continued.  Instead, he removed all three clear coats, sanded the concrete, and reapplied all three coats. 
The countertops are astounding.  They are beyond description and the quality is immediately apparent.  The marbling in the concrete ties into our flooring, along with the black grout used between the seams of the countertops (they needed to be at least three pieces).  The installation was great and simple.  They leveled the countertops and sealed around our sink. 
The results for both the flooring and the countertops were far beyond what we could have imagined.  Working with Rodd was a delight at every step. I will absolutely recommend The Resurfacing Company to anyone who wants concrete work done.  His work is so good that our guests have already asked for his contact information.  We will continue to work with Rodd for any our future concrete projects, too. 

Rodd came out and presented options in designs and colors for the 3 areas we wanted done. The garage was done with epoxy and decorative stain was used on the lanai and entryway. He took 4 days to do the work by himself. He planned out the work in a way that we could always have access in and out of the house during that time. The work included prepping the concrete we had which meant cleaning it and filling in some holes. A base coat was applied, then the color and then a sealer coat. We also wanted shark coat in the garage to keep it from being slippery when wet. Our lanai had several cracks in it, so Rodd used those cracks in a scored design which looks absolutely beautiful. The front entryway was made to look like a tile design with grout and it, too, looks great. I am attaching before and after photos to show how great his work turned out. We are absolutely impressed and couldn't be happier with the outcome. Our neighbors seem jealous.

The pool deck was painted by another contractor, just 1 month prior, and was peeling and cracking....Rodd Balcanoff, from The Resurfacing Company, came out and gave me an estimate of what it would cost to completely strip, repaint, and seal the concrete....Rodd was very good at explaining things to us, and pointed out that his extensive knowledge in concrete, had what it took to get the job done CORRECTLY..... We agreed to the job....It took 2-3 days to complete the job....The concrete was painted and etched beautifully!.....Although the cost was a little higher than other contractors, after the 1st contractor disaster with this pool deck, we realized YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!....I only wish we had come to the Resurfacing Company first!

He is definitely worth it!

It went great, and it was done during the awful cold snap we experienced here. He also removed and replaced all my furniture as a courtesy, which I greatly appreciated since I am a single woman.

HE showed up when he said he would. Advised me as to details of what should be done. Charged me what he said he would, and cleaned up after the work was done.

More than that I can't ask for.

Overall, excellent! Rodd arrived when he said he would. He spent the first day cleaning and preparing the concrete. The second day, he masked the walls, cabinets, floors, and entryways to prevent damage to existing surfaces. He also built up thresholds so the resurfaced floor would be level with existing floors. The third day was devoted to putting down the new concrete over the old surface. This was a shorter day than usual because the concrete had to set. Day four began with a complete check for any issues with the new surface. Then the color was applied. This was a multi-pass process that resulted in a very nice layered look. Day five saw the application of the epoxy clear coat. We had been warned that the fumes would be a little strong. That was an understatement. The epoxy fumes were among the nastiest, vilest, most obnoxious smells I have ever encountered, and I have worked in a hospital lab! The smell even permeated my backpack and breathing machine that was sitting in the kitchen. The day was made worse by torrential rains that prevented us staying outside. In the end, we packed up and spent the night with relatives. As I said, we had been warned. I don't know what day six involved because things were wrapped up by the time we got back. However, the smell was again bearable, so he must have spent the morning of day six airing things out. The moral: plan to stay overnight somewhere else the day the epoxy is put down.
The end result is amazing. The floor is shiny with an almost 3-D look because of the multiple layers of colour applied. Rodd had initially said it would take 8-10 days, but the job started on Tuesday afternoon and finished up Sunday morning two days shorter than his estimate.
I heartily recommend The Resurfacing Company. I know who will be doing our pool deck when the time comes.

I probably should have done what I originally wanted to do. instead, i opted for painting it. Worker suggested putting lines all over to help conceal future cracks that could appear in time. BUT i am not pleased with it's total appearance Further this process put alot of concrete powder in the pool from the flying dust which unbalanced the pools chemicals. The sealer used also made the deck very slippery and dangerous when wet. .
The overall appearance is OK. Nothing great
Down the road, will probably crete coat it back to it's original look. as the paint is blah.
