Lorenzo West said that he knew how to build a shower pan for
my remodeled bathroom. He did not build the shower pan correctly. It did not
slope properly so water can drain. It was spilling out of the shower onto the
bathroom floor- he told me to use a towel on floor to stop water from coming
out. I tried to resolve this issue by asking him to provide his insurance
information (which he didn't) so I can hire someone else. I needed money so I
could have an "expert" complete the work but he refused and would never
even discuss the issue with me. The manner in which he built shower pan was an
absolute disgrace to the carpentry profession. I had 2 bathroom remodeling
professionals come out to evaluate what he had done and both agreed that he
failed miserably in providing me with the right product. It's costing me
thousands of dollar more, on top of what I paid him. He received a total of
$4500 plus; I paid about $4000 for materials but then after having someone else
come out to tear out everything he had done, I am now out of $12,000! This guy
wanted money too soon. Originally, he was the one who said he wanted a 1/3 of
money upfront, in middle and then after work is completed. On the middle
amount- he requested it too soon, even though he wasn't half way done; then
while he wasn't even near completion, he hustled me out of the rest. I trusted
this guy because he worked for me for a long time. I was good and fair to him
and he took advantaged of me. I always paid what he asked even though he is
unreasonably expensive but yet, he stiffed me and will not honor his agreement.
All I can say is use him at your own risk. There are some things he does well
but make sure you don't give him any money until work is completed but don't
count on him honoring his agreement to come back to rectify any issues. He is
not an honest man and will take advantage of you. This is not being written to
be malicious but to forewarn you to not risk losing your hard earned money!
