Gary is honest and very reasonable. (The price quoted is for labor only - we bought all the materials.) He showed up as agreed and worked very hard. Cheerful and fun to have around. I was comfortable letting him have access to the grounds when we were not home. He was careful never to assume anything and consulted me when in doubt.
His strength is as a framer and carpenter. I would not call him a true cabinet maker; he's a little crude with fine-finished woodwork. But he can build a sturdy new building from the foundation up as long as you make sure that the latest codes are followed. Drywall and siding work is very clean. Pretty good at painting, but I am super fussy about that and prefer to do the detail work myself. He has expert training in HVAC and installed a mini-split unit for us. The heat pump for our main house went out and he fixed that very easily and inexpensively as well.
