He did close it up enough, which allowed for pests to crawl up there.

The brick mason he hired did a FABULOUS job and there was no problems with the trim; however, the contractor covered up termite damage to 2x4, he only repaired visible damage, and said the damage to sunroom ceiling was more trouble than it was worth and did not require repair as there was no leak. He submitted a written statement to the bank that there was only normal wear and tear. I trusted his judgment - bad idea.
We had a torrential rainstorm for 2 days which presented a good opportunity to verify his statement. The carpet in the sunroom was drenched in water.
The GC was contacted. He did a quick patch job and reported the problem was fixed. I insisted on independent quotes
from 3 certified roofers. Only one of the roofers, reported the shoddy work which had been done and submitted pictures; tar had been used to fix the problem, which apparently is not to be done to that type of roof.
The GC was contacted to clean up the mess but I am leery about having him do that. 
After the inspector informed that the grounding wire would need to be addressed, the GC toured the neighborhood and challenged the home inspector that no one else's in the neighborhood is grounded.  I guess that was too much trouble too. The inspector stuck to his guns and an electrician was hired to do the work.
In all fairness, he did return to repair damage to 2x4 and submitted pictures for verification; but there should not have had to be a return visit and quite frankly I question whether the pictures are credible.
