When work was completed it took several days and as a many calls to their supervisor to get dumpster removed. Dumpster was parked on driveway blocking access to the car port and front door. Finally it got removed.
The crew that installed roof failed to replace rotted facial areas that were to be repaired/replaced at the time quote was made. After numerous calls, and visits to there office, part of the rotted areas were finally addressed and somewhat repaired. Two areas were missed. Again many calls were made, emails sent, visits to their office finally resulted in their supervisor meeting with me at the house and he confirmed that the rotted areas should have been corrected AND that he would get his crew out to house the next today . . . his word tomorrow . . . to replace rotted areas. Tomorrow never comes with Silcox.
Since entire roof was replaced I needed to get a wind mitigation report and Silcox said that they would get this report to me so I could get house insured. Again many calls were made to their supervisor and emails and calls to their office finally generated the much requested wind mitigation report.
Since I live out of town, I had to rely on my renter and co-owner to keep me updated on where Silcox was at in getting the rotted areas repaired/replaced. I also made several trips back to Jacksonville to follow up on why the work was not completed. Their supervisors response is "it will get done tomorrow, I promise".
As of the end of June 2013 there have been no effort to contact me or repair rotted areas.
The owner of Silcox, his office person, and supervisor ALL stated numerous times that they guarantee that work will be completed to my satisfaction. Which is simply lip service they provide in order to get the business. Since the cost to take them to court would be higher than getting areas repaired, I will get work done locally. Which is probably what they are thinking.
Silxox is not a company that I would recommend to anyone. My only hope is that the roof they installed does not need any follow up repair for based on their response to date, it will not get done, and I will have to get another company to handle the repairs if needed.
