Bevin does beautiful landscape work. Her designs are creative and her prices are reasonable. She worked on both our front and back yards and we are extremely happy with her results.

Bevin was the first to reply. Good communication throughout the bidding process and job. Very competitive pricing. Arrived on time, worked steadily, including through the rain. Came back several days later to seal the patio due to the weather. She was proactive throughout - I didn't have to follow up. No nonsense professional who gets things done right and on time.

Response from Rowanoak Outdoor
"Met with customer and informed her the package she bought would not cover the square footage she wanted covered with landscape material. Gave her a bid to remove existing plant material, clean beds and add a few more plants then scheduled the work. Customer contacted me said she had her lawn maintenance people remove shrubs. Arrived to do the work they only removed two shrubs and cut the rest to the ground. I called and told her I can not plant plants on top of root balls. Also her gutters were hanging and there was several inches of standing water in beds. Informed her plants would not live in these soil conditions which is why a lot of them were dead and were being removed recommended amending soil and she declined. Took pictures of gutters and sent them to her. Removed two stumps was never compensated. Customer called back once other stumps were removed ( she did not want to pay me to do it) and had gutters repaired. Cancelled extra plants and clean up which is why there is grass in the beds. This was not part of the deal. Planted plants from package plus other plants she bought from somewhere else and was not compensated. As you can also see from picture topiaries are not part of the deal. She also asked me to set pavers for her without being compensated for which i declined. I met with this customer 5 times for a plant package which cost 299.00. Some people are ungrateful no matter how much you try to help them."

Great. the team of two worked very quickly to complete he job agreed upon.
Response from Rowanoak Outdoor
"Was on time to both appointments. Initial consultation was 5 minutes early waited on home owner and to do the work was on time as stated via phone call I received by spouse who was not at initial consultation. Did everything client asked us to do she said it was 'wonderful' and appreciated the work because her back no longer allowed her to do it herself. Asked if there was anything else we could do for her before leaving she said, "no if this was all my husband asked then that's all.""

On the expected day of arrival it was raining - I had to call twice to see if we were still on for the afternoon but we had to move the work to another day. Team of two arrived and work was done timely, area cleaned up and design was beautiful. Instructions were left on how to care for the new design as well. Would hire again. Thank you!

They were on time.

They sent two people out for three hours. They man in charge was on his cell phone during the job.

I told them that I have a sprinkle system, one man ran over a sprinkler head with a tiller. He tried to fix it. I ended up having to hire someone new to fix it. It also looks as though they also hit my new fence with the tiller. I was unable to open and close my fence gate once they left.

Response from Rowanoak Outdoor
"Im unsure why you are leaving a review on October 26th for work done on March 5th. I speak with every client after a job is completed if I am not present to ensure quality standards are being met and my customers are happy with the work. Second, the reason I dont remember your job is because I FIX EVERYTHING I BREAK. Always have always will. I cant fix what I dont know about. Third, we do not own or operate a tiller."

Bevin and her team are a hard working group. I don't dispute that at all. However, I spoke to Bevin about using were barrier in my new planting area. She assured me that the combination of removing the sod and using a thick layer of mulch would illiminate the need for weed barrier. It's been 60 days. I've used round up 3 times. But it's a dang jungle out there. I am so embarrassed. My whole neighborhood can see that I got out witted. The day of my service, the sod cutting machine was missing an important screw. This caused a significant delay. I don't know if the sod removal was then rushed or incompletely performed. I just know that my yard is a huge mess. I wish I had stuck with my intuition and used were barrier. I'm changing my grade to an F because $4000 worth of landscaping should have lasted more than 60 days.
Response from Rowanoak Outdoor
"[Member Name Removed] originally gave us an A rating. We did not install weed barrier because it does not prevent weeds. I spent weeks going back and forth because what you wanted would not fit in your budget. Not only did I discount my prices, gave you contractor pricing because you were really upset about the condition of your yard and I was in a position to be kind and help you. Not only is the weed barrier a waste of money, it would have been an additional 1000.00 to cover that square footage. You did not have this in your budget. I suggested preene preemergent herbicide which you said you didn't use, pull the weeds, and use round up. Landscape beds require regular maintenance which I instructed you on regardless of weed barrier or not. This is why people hire maintenance companies to maintain planting beds."

I have hesitations when it comes to hiring contractors for fear that I will end up with the wrong one. For that reason, it took me a long time to choose a company to redesign my entire landscape. I am a very lucky consumer who found Rowanoak through word of mouth. I am not one to post reviews; however, because I had such a great experience, I wanted to share it for others who have the same hesitations as I do. I had six major areas that needed a make-over plus a trouble spot that needed a draining solution. I LOVE how everything turned out and would highly recommend Rowanoak because: • Bevin is extremely knowledgeable; a subject-matter expert who was spot on with her design plans for my home. • She takes pride in her work and her business. • She took the time to understand what my overall goal. • She knew exactly what to plant to achieve a low-maintenance, tropical-feel. • She took the time to answer my questions and was considerate of how little I knew. • She shared her knowledge and made sure I understood how to control the growth of each plant. • The crew was here as scheduled and stayed until the job was done. • They were trustworthy, professional and extremely polite. • When something unexpected came up, they handled it immediately. • They made sure everything was working properly; even replaced some dated irrigation sprayers that were warped • They made sure I was happy with their work. I will definitely use them again.

"Please when purchasing these deals read the entire description. 2 hours with two people. 4 hours with one. There were two people at your house for two hours as you described in your review even though when speaking with you you stated there was only 20 minutes of work to do."

We purchased a "deal" from Angies list for about 40 plants, mulch, and installation. After several phone calls, Devon came to the house. I showed her the landscape blueprint, the blueprint of the irrigation system in the yard, and the survey of the lawn. She did not take any notes of copies of any plans. We went out side and looked at the edge of the property although she stayed on the driveway because she was wearing very high heals. She was talking about 7 gallon pots put the plants they did put in are much smaller. approximately 6 of the plants have up to 2 inches of exposed root ball and they were put in the neighbor's yard so we had to move them and repair the neighbor's yard (well we are in the process of doing the moving and repairing.) We have a good relationship with our neighbors so that is not a problem. Devon will not return our phone calls. And she saw the entire blueprint for landscaping this acre lot so it was foolish of her to do this piece so badly. We bought another "deal" from a painter last fall and have given him lots of business since.
Response from Rowanoak Outdoor
"I apologized for missing our appointment. Confused as to how you said, "no problem", now on here its an issue. I was just as confused when trying to communicate with you your son or his answering service was answering the phone. I was never given a direct contact number to you. Spoke to your son several times but you only once. Your son stated you only wanted the azaleas that came with the deal which is what we planted. The property line is not marked, and is not a manicured planting bed. It is full of miscellaneous trees, weeds, grass, sparse scraggly azaleas, and leaves. It is wild and over grown. The deal did not include sod removal, or bed clean out of any kind. Neither you nor your son indicated you wanted to add this service so we planted the azaleas where they would fit in between existing azaleas and trees. You nor your son have contacted me regarding the service provided. You went straight to Angie's List and first stated I didn't plant anything and now have retracted that review and said I planted something and did a terrible job. I did exactly what your son said you wanted, planted azaleas using your irrigation heads as a marker for your property line as indicated in the landscape plans from the 1980's. Your yard does not look anything like the landscape plan from 40 years ago."

The owner, Bevin, inspected our existing landscaping, that was 14 years old and in poor shape, and devised a do-over plan.

On the day the work was scheduled, the Rowanoak Team arrived and began working, with Bevin on scene to direct the work.  All of the plants we had ordered were delivered.

The high quality of the plants was readily apparent - all were beautiful specimens.  The layout of the new plants and existing plants was excellent.  They totally transformed our front yard from a tired and disjointed look to a beautiful landscape that has great symmetry and flow.

After the plants were installed, new mulch was added and our unkempt pindo was perfectly trimmed.

Bevin has artistic and layout skills that are superior to  most landscapers.  Her talent in selecting the proper mix of plants and installing in the most effective location was very impressive.  On top of everything, she uses very healthy, first quality plants.

Considering the amount of labor involved and the quantity and quality of the plants we received, the price was very reasonable.

We love our new landscaping.

Bevin was very receptive to my requests. After she gave me her design ideas, we worked together to tweak the plan. After alot of discussion and Bevin's expert advice, they landscaped my hillside and repaired a patio. A few small hiccups with tools caused the team to stay much later than expected. They just kept pushing through and stayed until the job was done. It looks great! All of my neighbors are commenting on how great it looks. I would definitely have Bevin and her team back. The price was very fair and the work was fantastic. I just can't thank them enough.
Response from Rowanoak Outdoor
"Super sweet customer! So helpful and patient. You were a pleasure to work for and we are grateful for the work. Please let us know if you have any questions about the plants and trees we installed."

Did a great job on what they did but I will never prepay again as they took off before everything was done

"You indicated to my employees as well as myself via phone what a wonderful job my crew did at your home. The deal states 2 hours with 2 employees. They did as much work as was possible inside the two hours. You could have purchased additional time to complete any additional work."

Contractor was asked to rake leaves and trim bushes.  Contractor stated that they did not trim trees over 8ft high and would not trim trees as requested.  Contractor raked leaves from front yard as requested, for about two hours but said they could not clean up leaves on side of house or in back because leaf blower was in use on another job.  Said they would return next day.  Contractor returned Friday with blower and blew leaves from side yard and half of back yard but left half of back yard unfinished.  We had to leave for another appointment before job was finished, and did not have opportunity to talk with contractor and ask them to finish. Contractor did not leave any message.
Response from Rowanoak Outdoor
"Mr. [Member Name Removed], I'm not sure what the confusion is regarding this deal. It states 1 person 4 hours 2 people 2 hours. There were two of us for one hour and 15 minutes removed all of the leaves from the beds as you asked, pulled all of the weeds and oak tree seedlings from your planting beds even though you didn't ask us to. We do not trim trees taller than your house roof line. You stated another landscaper blows the leaves into the woods I said if that is what you want us to do I will come back and blow the leaves into the woods. I came on Friday to blow the backyard because it rained on Thursday making it difficult to blow anything in the rain. I did exactly as you asked and blew all the leaves into the woods as most of your backyard is natural unlandscaped wood line. You did not call or leave a message stating you were unsatisfied with the level of work. We would have been happy to come out and correct any issues as I do with every customer I have ever had."
