I wanted to build a dock and boat lift to hold my existing jet skis and a planned sailboat, that I had not yet purchased, but described to them the size, weight, and type of boat. They proposed building a lift for the future sailboat, but temporarily building a flat wood platform on the lift to use for the jet skis, and later adding the sailboat runners when the boat was purchased. We built what they recommended. However the jet ski platform was not effective, and we later replaced it with separate jet ski lifts. This year I was ready to purchase my sailboat, and called them back to replace the flat platform with the sailboat runners. They told me that the pilings were too small and the lift motors too small to use with the sailboat and that I needed to build a whole new sailboat lift. In a nutshell, I had them build the boat lift they advised, then later they told me it wouldn't work.
