William Roberts came to my home and gave me a quote for a small hardwood installation in my foyer. All I needed was to purchase glue. About a week before the scheduled installation he texted me and advised me that he had a friend that had glue he could purchase at a discount but it needed to be purchased that day. So I left a check for $90 under my front door mat. He soon came by, retrieved it and cashed it.
The morning he was to perform the work came and went. After a few back and forth emails over several hours with various excuses, he said he was in transit to my house. An hour passed and had still not arrived. Needless to say the emails stopped and the phone was not answered.
About a week later my husband finally got a hold of him and William and asked about his whereabouts and the money. Williams again had several excuses so we gave him the benefit of the doubt and assumed he needed time to get the money together and advised we would give him a couple of weeks. Today when we tried to call; his phone has been disconnected.
Do not use this installer!
Heard about Willam through his reputation and hardwood basketball court work.
He was on time and very knowledgeable. The work was done on our rental house which was built in the 1950's. Lot of problems, ie. uneven surfaces and prior floor buildup. Robert knew exactly what to do; I could tell he was a true craftsman based on the amount of tools he had. He not only took care of what we hired him for. He also redid a threshold trim at no cost.
The job was completed and we loved it. However, when we noticed a small defect in the laminate we supplied (not William's fault) he insisted on coming back and replacing the section at no charge.
We used on our rental and will now definitely use him on our home.
