This is a dishonest company that does not listen to their customers, fakes trip tickets, never shows up, charges extra for chemicals even though the condition of the pool is their fault and does not believe you, the customer, about the no shows and lies to say they were there. They took full advantage of me e cause they knew this was a second home. My house had security cameras all around, one specifically facing the pool. I offered Ms. Garner several times the video log and the actual videos of the no show days. She said no because she knew Matt was there and she had tickets, even though I was not left tickets. The pool was a swamp the first time I saw it after leaving the home; it had been 6 weeks. I called them and they said it was due to rain. The tech that showed to clean the pool was in shock and said that the pool had not been cleaned in weeks for it to look like that. Many, many times, I would stay all day at the house when I was in town watching if they would come but they didn’t know I was there. I would then call to report a no show, or other issues. One time, she said he could not clean the filter because there was not hose by the pool yet I was standing next to it when I called. He claimed often there was not a hose even though I could see it on the security cameras. For months, the pool continued to look terrible but instead of acknowledging it wasn’t being cleaned or treated regularly, she blamed leaks. They sent out someone to check for leaks and it was pouring. He was not able to complete the work due to the rain. She charged me anyway! Ms. Garner also told me to fix the problem, the pool wall and floor would have to be significantly cut to fix the leak. I hired a company who actually found the leak and the fix only required a 4X4 inch cut. She was right about the leak but when fixed the pool continued to look the same. Then a couple months later she blamed the size of the pump. We had the same size pump for that pool for 35 years. I called a pool contractor and another pool cleaning company to assess the pump size. Both said it was fine. She also blamed the filter and wanted to sell me one but at this time I did not trust her anymore. I went with another pool company, Purple Heart Pools, and within one week my pool looked great and for the next 5 months there was no problems!

The heat pump was installed when promised and is working well.
Unlike one of their competitors they followed through on their quotation with all the details I requested and easily answered the follow up questions.
It was supposed to be delivered the day before the morning it was to be installed but, while they did send it the day before, they did not send it with the appropriate equipment to get it to where it was to be installed so they drove away with it. I guess there was some communication issue with the distributor and even the next day there was some lingering confusion as to whether it had been delivered. (it had not.) A couple of phone calls later it was on the right truck with the right equipment and work began. I would say that any company can have the occasion communication problem and the test of a company's customer service is how they recover and follow through.
Bottom line, the heat pump was installed and working as promised and when promised regardless of what had taken place prior.
I would definitely bring these guys in on the next quoting process. And as a pool owner I know there will be one sooner or later.

I don't recall the actual dates of pool service. They serviced the pool for at least 2 years but it was many years ago. I wrote the review because I was asked to do so when I signed in to Angie's List. I do remember how terrible the service was, however. Suddenly, black mold developed under the rim of the spa and the interior turned reddish. We were told we needed to drain and acid wash the whole pool. Better still, a complete resurfacing. A pool finish sample board was left on the pool deck with no follow up. Our pool was leaking. They charged $75. each time they attempted to fix the leak which was never successful. Eventually I called a pool leak repair company came to fix the leak. Pools by John Garner ordered parts that never came (an overflow drain hose) and was supposed to repair the pool pump but never did. Finally, I gave up and called a repair person who easily fixed the pump and recommended someone else to service the pool. The new person was great! Guess what? No more black mold or red discoloration in the spa! The pool stayed just fine and was completely remodeled in 2012.

I do not see them much because I am out of town a lot and my wife handles most of the dealings, but, when I do they are great. The last time they came out everything went as it usually does. They got it cleaned and it still works fine. I have used them before to repair about 5 or 6 leaks and they also did well with that. They are a great company thus far. As far as pricing, my wife handles that as well.
