No work was performed. Giant waste of my time.
Description of Work: Met at RAP Home Tour. I called and emailed twice without response. He called me back about 2 weeks later with a weak excuse but was still interested in his services. I gave him address and lockbox code. He spent time at my house doing an estimate. He called me twice from property with questions. Then i never heard from him again. Made 2 attempts to reach him unsuccessfully. Never got a quote or any type of courtesy.

Had a BB gun hole in my window. MOHR was one of the three quotes I got. I could tell he was very knowledgeable about working with historic windows (my house is pre-1915 and has the original windows.) It was a very small job for him but he and his assistant got the pane installed in no time. They wanted to wait a few days to put the final paint on, which turned into several weeks because he got sick and the holidays. That is really my only complaint, it took him three weeks to finish the 10 minute paint job after the hard part was done. I will give him the benefit of the doubt because it was such a small job and he gave me a great price. I would use him again.
Description of Work: Replaced a pane on one of my single pane original windows.

As mentioned above, they are still in the process of working on our very large project. They are close to half-way done with the exterior portion and we have been very pleased with the work. We would highly recommend this company.
Description of Work: We have a large brick home built in the 1930s with many original wood windows that were in need of painting and repair due to wood rot and age. We primarily needed exterior work done, but also needed windows painted on the interior. This was a very large project. Mr Corrales provided a very thorough inspection of all the work, making detailed notes as we looked over the exterior and interior repairs/painting that was needed. He spent a considerable amount of time and effort preparing a bid for us. He kept me informed by email, discussed different options of how the windows and trim could be repaired and painted, and did a good job of listening to what we wanted to have done. Although Mr. Corrales has the expertise to bring an old window completely back to "life", he is also willing to provide more cost-effective "in-between" options. His bid came in very competitive -- although he was not the lowest bid we received, he was not too far off. We chose him because he cam high recommended, and certainly seemed more knowledgable and professional that the other companies I spoke with. He started the project on time and has had the same worker consistently on the job (as weather permits). Although the project is still in progress (and likely will be for a while), we have been very pleased with the results so far. The rotted wood has been dug out of several windows, repairs and repainted -- they look great. They have completed almost half of the exterior -- we will keep you posted as they continue. But, so far so good -- I would highly recommend this company.

We bought an older home in 2010 and knew immediately that the windows were going to need help. For starters, they were all (every single one!) painted shut. This was not only a fire hazard, but also just a plain bummer, because I like having the windows open. Second, the paint was peeling, which was unsightly and dangerous because the windows had been originally painted with lead paint. Third, the previous owner had installed high security locks, complete with one-way screws, but didn't leave a key. We tried to resolve some of these problems ourselves. We tried removing the old paint from the windows in one room, but quickly realized it was beyond our skill (and more work than we wanted to do ourselves, to be honest). We called in locksmiths to work on the locks. They were successful in popping the lock on the one window we tried as test, but they couldn't remove the lock hardware. We researched methods of removing one-way screws and learned that drilling was the only method. Due to the space limitations and the proximity of old glass, it wasn't feasible for us to do this ourselves. In short, we needed serious help. We weren't aware of the concept of window restoration, so we started looking into new windows. They price tag was horrifying, and we weren't confident of the quality of any of the types we looked at. We plan on being in this house close to forever, and we didn't want to have to buy new windows all over again in a few decades. As I was researching some of the windows that were pitched to us, I came across a few references to the benefits of window restoration. The points made sense to me, so I did a web search for "window restoration Jacksonville" and came across Angel. I emailed him, and he replied right away. I still have his first email to me, and it says: "What you just described is what we do everyday- sometimes I even dream about it. :) " So we invited him over to take a look. He spent an hour looking at the windows and talking with us. He put us at ease with both his immense knowledge and his friendly manner. He emailed us a quote a few days later, and it was less than half of the amount of the lowest quote we had gotten for new windows. We verified his insurance and his references, and they all checked out, so we decided to move forward. Work began in August and lasted about 12 weeks, which was right in line with the original time frame Angel had quoted. The price went over the original quote by a few hundred dollars, but that was completely with our approval due some higher quality hardware. Angel and his team were professional, timely, courteous and did outstanding work. It was such a pleasure to work with a contractor who is reliable, honest and knows and loves his craft. I would absolutely do business with him again. In fact, we've hired him to do ongoing semi-annual maintenance on the windows to keep them in good repair.
Description of Work: Angel Corrales of MOHR Historic Restoration and his team restored 20 windows in our home over a three-month period. Each window was removed from the house and taken to Angel's shop. The window hole was boarded up with plywood. At the shop, the old paint and the old lock were removed, any needed repairs were done, including new glass, and the window was repainted. In the meantime, one of Angel's team worked on the window frame at the house, sanding, stripping and repainting as needed. Then the window was reinstalled including a new lock and weatherstripping. All the new hardware and glass was matched as closely as possible to the period of the house (1949).
