"I went to her residence upon her request to bid some closet work she wanted. After speaking with (member name removed) extensively about the design she wanted, I gave her a written invoice of the cost for labor and material, which she agreed to, and I received a material deposit of $300. with the balance due upon completion. a couple days later I cashed her check and picked up the materials, brought them back to my shop to mill the wood for her closets. She called me about the time I started and told me she had changed her mind on the design, I was unable to understand the changes she wanted to make, I informed (member name removed) I could come again, but there would be an additional cost for another estimate. I am more than happy to finish our original agreement ,or if she can explain it to me and its not much different from our original agreement, I'm willing to do that. But this is why I require a material deposit, so I'm not stuck with material out of my pocket when someone changes the plan. It takes time and gas to gather materials, and my time is worth something!"
