The cleaning lady did a poor job. Dust remained on ceiling fans, kitchen drawers were not cleaned, etc. And was paid $250 for next to no cleaning, she didn't even clean the cooking oil that was on the sliding glass doors. But the painting was even worse. Many walls were very thinly coated with the new paint, areas behind the toilets were not painted at all and satin was supposed to only be used in the bathrooms. Flat and satin were used indiscriminately in both baths. I even went and marked locations that they needed to fix with blue tape, they did some and pulled up the rest. But the worst of it was Joe, the owner and I think his wife (the office flunky) called every hour demanding payment, then the following day Joe came to the house threatening to call the police, yelling at my 77 yr old mother who just lost her husband 2 months ago. She paid him what he was demanding $3,100 as she was afraid that he might do something to her and I was not there that day. DO NOT USE HIRE A HANDY MAN OR YOU WILL BE SORRY!

I have had the pleasure of multiple completed projects with Hire A Handyman. They are polite, professional, and do great work every time. I always recommend this company when I am approached about hiring someone to get a job done right and will continue to do so. Lookin forward to see you next time!

Joe and Shannon have provided excellent service.  If the job they do requires any tweaking, they send someone out to do it right away.

The craftsman that came out, Larry, was top notch. He was clearly skilled in carpentry. I gave hire a handyman a picture in advance of what i wanted them to create and Larry did an excellent job of recreating it. He even did a good jib of accounting for some tricky aspects of the job. I would recommend to others and hire again.

The provider installed the pocket door; however, in the process he pulled the walls away from where they were on each side of the doorway.  On one side a small gap exists between the wall and a brand new vanity and granite countertop.  On the more unfortunate side a significant gap exists between the wall and the tub and floor.  Caulking around the tub and from the top of the tub to the floor will have to be replaced.  The gap in the floor will require the door frame to be cut so that the floor can be regrouted to fill in the space where the wall once met the tile.  Most unfortunately was that the provider cut tiles on the wall which should not have been done and they are crooked and those tiles will need to be replaced.  The also causes a grouting color issue as more than the tiles impacted by the cutting may have to be replaced to have a consistent grout color on that wall.

I usually do all my own handyman work, but needed to get "kick started" on some projects.
They were great - really helped.
I referred them to a neighbor. She was happy.
Great to know there is a company like this around.
I will definitely use them again. I want to speed up things that are taking me way TOOOO long to do it myself. They make a big difference.
For all you DIYers.... They really help speed things up.

It's family owned and he was great. He listened to me and figured out what needs to be done and got a handyman the next day. They charge hourly and this guy worked non stop. He was so polite and the cost was unbelievably affordable. He did a great job and I was very impressed with him. I heard that a couple is running this company and they have good reputation in my community. They have strong values and stand by their work. We are also planning to hire them again to redo some of the cabinets.

Excellent and professional service.  Shannon was quite helpful and very pleasant to deal with!  The range hood did not come with the necessary lights but the gentleman took the time to show me how to install them when I obtained them.  I was so satisfied that  asked for an estimate on other work to be done.  Joe was easy to deal with and very patient with me. I would highly recommend this company and they will be doing additional projects for me!

Excellent in every way. The repairs were excellent and performed in a timely and courteous manner. Our repairman had to return to install the dead bolt - his truck broke down but he came on his motorcycle (on a chilly day) to keep his appointment. This is our second time using Hire A Handyman and would recommend them to anyone.

I had a hard time rating this but limited my rating to this one experience and frankly this is the one that will stick with me forever.
The serviceman was very polite. I've used this company successfully on a number of occasions before - with minor problems that I never complained about because the servicemen are so easy going, polite and on time.
This time the serviceman installed the in-wall light switch timer. The lights have a light and motion sensor. I did not attempt to test them before he left. On the weekend following this service my lawncare provider was installing the sod I'd purchased through my homeowner's association. It was then that I realized my lights were not working. I thought maybe the timer was not set properly so I spent some time with the little manual that came with the light switch working on resetting the timer. When I was unsuccessful, I did not want to go another couple of nights with no outside lights so I called my neighbor's service who is a licensed electrician. Without going into what he had to say, since I believe that's not permitted, I observed when he removed it that the switch had not been grounded. 5 minutes later, he had it working. Since it was dusk by then, I was able to observe the working lights. When I spoke with Shannon after receiving the bill, she apologized and I thought that was the end of that. To not have charged me for that service call seemed reasonable to me so when she said and quot;OKand quot; and that she understood, I assumed that was the end of it. I've used this service for years and would have called them again for some of the carpentry work I planned to have done thinking that might be more of their strength.
Shannon called me and left a message. I called her back first thing in the morning (they would not have been open by the time I heard the message the evening before), she said she wanted to come by to pick up the check for this service. I was in shock. First, because we'd spoken but she insisted she didn't recall that and second, because I'm obsessive about paying my bills on time. I've never had someone show up at my house to collect on an invoice. Really? I said she would not. She agreed I had always paid promptly. I repeated my concerns with the service. It was only $74 or so. She repeatedly said I should have called them to let them correct it. I think she is entitled to her opinion but I don't think I owed them to potentially get it wrong again or to knowingly sit in dark for two more nights. And I likely would have had to take more time away from work to get it done within her company's schedule, although in theory someone could have come by at night or I could have waited longer until the next weekend and spent part of my Saturday doing this. I was at work but immediately got on-line with my bank and ordered a check for them. But I will never use this service again. Offer of half-off would have satisfied me.

They arrived on time, did the work and cleaned up after themselves as expected. They did a great job arranging the setup so that the bag would be easily out of the way when not in use.

I called in the morning of August 2nd and I was given a time for later that day. When the professional thought he might be appox 15" late, I was called at least 1 hr prior to his scheduled arrival. He was extemely professional, did great job, was knowledgeable, and helpful. I was very impressed with this company and would definately use them again and recommend them highly.

I've used this company many times. Joe is fair and friendly. He came to give the estimate the same day I called. He is always willing to talk over options and is willing to find ways to work within our budget without compromising quality. Usually, we are able to do some of the work and cleanup to save on labor. The crew showed up on the agreed upon day and time, worked hard and well. They were friendly and professional. Although we haven't had much rain this year, we've had enough to know the shed roof is excellent.

Repair was completed with no problems, company rep called to tell me that they were done and of course payment was at end of job (which was also mentioned at start). He came over to my home and caught with no checks I paid in cash and got what I thought was a receipt. 3 months later rude call stating that I had not paid. I told them who came, what he looked like, what he talked about (my donating furniture to his charity) and faxed the sheet he left. I was told this was not a receipt, but a bill which they swear they mailed to me. Funny how there were absolutely no creases and they didn't know when it was sent, but "We ALWAYS mail and our people NEVER go to your house", she then said they would write this off even though "I don't believe you". 3 months later the same person called like we had not spoken asking for payment again. Don't pay these people in cash even if they have to wait and make absolutely sure they mark PAID IN FULL on any paper you get. I'm paying for 2 now.
