I had several jobs completed. Trey was my service professional. He was professional, courteous and trustworthy. See my comments below.

They come out and provide a quote before any work is done on all jobs. They quoted my job (connecting a dryer) as 1 hour and the service tech tried to bill me for 3 1/2 hours since he waited for the rain to stop before continuing the job. I told him he could put a rain jacket on and still work and he scoffed at me. After I told him I would only be paying for one and a half hours he went back to his truck to readjust the materials cost to make them more expensive. The tech was knowledgeable and did a good job on the gas line. However, the tech showed very little integrity. I would not recommend this company.

They quoted my job (connecting a dryer) as 1 hour and the service tech tried to bill me for 3 1/2 hours " We do provide quotes on almost all jobs, Your job was advised as a time and material job as you supplied the Sleeve we needed to install the lines, There was never a written quote for the work, I will follow up with the technician on the labor charges, as the job should have been rescheduled if there was a rain delay. Field technicians are unable to change any part prices in the field, and must contact the office for price changes, after reviewing the part prices, they are exactly what the system is set for." I apologize if you feel this was Quoted, but it was explained as a time and material job, any prices given verbally are "Guesstimates" of the work to be done. Jason came and fixed my fireplace. He was very thorough! More importantly, he saved me lots of money! Another recommended gas company came and told me the entire box had to be replaced! That would not only be disruptive because of the destruction but, very expensive! Jason, came and had it fixed in 30 minutes!! Highly recommend!

Pros: Overall they did a timely and functional job that passed the County's permit inspection. Cons: 1) Took 3 or 4 follow up telephone calls for them to respond to my request to set up an installation schedule. 2) They did not make any effort to level out the mound of dirt they generated trenching the 10 foot copper line between the tanks and standby generator. 3) The propane delivery man had to relocate one of the tank top copper lines that had been installed blocking the initial fill vent valve. 4) We were quoted $400 to $450 for the job but was invoiced over $600. Original quote included 3 concrete block bases that were not required since prior to the tank installation we had a mason furnish a custom cast base. Requested an explanation for the higher than quoted price but never received one.

Fireplace has been broken for two years. Halls did everything they could to clean it up without having to replace the parts. Cleaning was not successful and we were told we'd need a new pilot assembly. Pilot assembly was replaced on the second visit without any problems. Halls did all they could to minimize expenses but provide the best service possible.

Checked setup on firebox and explained thoroughly setup w/how smell occurs. Gave ways to keep dust-free ways w/procedures to keep smell down on logs as dust enhances smell; also watch on tank amount down so when too low the additive in propane gas increases smell more.
