Mr. Harold Fields promptly visited the site upon contact. His review of the form installation was very thorough and his cost estimate was the best of the six companies I had contacted. It was immediately evident that his experience in concrete was extensive. He claims 27 years experience. His brother, Kenny, who works with him claims 41 years experience. The quality of the finished product gives credence to the claims of experience. The estimate process went well. The only problem encountered was that Harold asked for up-front partial payment. I'm sure it was for the purchase of the concrete, as I surmised he did not own the concrete producing facility, but rather, provided the finisher service. The wisdom of up-front payments is debatable, but I chose to gamble in this instance. Glad to report this gamble did not have a negative outcome. The next day, after partial payment, was concrete pour day. The Prestige concrete company was supposed to show up at 11 AM. Harold and his brother were on site a half hour early, but Prestige did not show up until 4 PM. I won't speculate as to the reason for this late show, but Harold spent all day communicating with them, trying to get them over. Needless to say, I was very displeased with this extreme tardiness. The pump man showed up to meet the delivery trucks on time. The pouring process was done professionally. Because of the late delivery, Harold worked until 3 AM to get the job finished. He came back the next day around noon to cut in the crack control joints. Absolutely no complaints about the work ethic and quality of workmanship.
