GHI & ASSOC INC CONCRT CONTR

We live in AZ and have a home in Florida that we are remodeling a little at a time. GHI was hired for the first job of staining the concretes, they were supposed to remove all old glue for carpet, fill nail holes and finish with a smooth surface before staining the concrete. They were also supposed to add cuts int he floor to give it the look of grout lines running throughout. Floor was not cleaned great but ok, some nail holes were not filled and no cuts were ever made. We decided to give them the opportunity to do more jobs for us. All the jobs listed that they were supposed to do were never completed 100%. The time it took them to work on jobs was unusually long by my thoughts. Any time you would call them they would have an excuse why something was not completed. We would pay them 50% down on a job and the final 50% when we "thought" the job was complete. Numerous times they would call and need money for a job because they needed gas. We had bought kitchen cabinets to be installed and they sat in the house for 1 month before they were installed, everyday there was another excuse why they were not done. After looking thoroughly over my Home Depot on material they had charged to my account for house I found tools they had purchased for themselves on my dime. What finally brought us to firing them was the siding job, they had our down payment for 2 weeks before they even ordered the siding. So that put the job not getting started on time. When they finally did start we were very specific on wanting the hose to be stripped of all old siding. We discovered that they were not going to strip all the siding they were going to just cover it up. When the first layer of siding was removed it was obvious that there was another layer on there that had mold, one exposing wall even had sheet rock under the siding that they were just going to cover up and not tell us about. They had also left the house exposed and water got in during the rains. We found beer cans all throughout the home. They had half of the money for the siding job and only did a few hours work, they took some material with them and left a minimal amount only because we threatened to call the cops if they did not leave the property. They have now put a lien on our home in Florida for the amount of $5820 saying we owe them for jobs they completed. The material supplier for the siding has now informed me that they may put a lien on our property as well because GHI never paid them for any of the material, even though they were given $4000 up front to purchase material from us.
