First Quality Gas

This is the second time I've used First Quality Gas and continue to be impressed with their service. They are responsive, dependable and communicate well. I am very happy with both the quality of work and professionalism.

We purchased a dual fuel range/oven from an appliance store that delivered it to our garage while we were in the process of a kitchen remodel. The appliance store said they didn't do gas installations and that we should contact the gas company. The gas company told us that they don't do that but to check out their website to find a list of contractors (not affiliated or even recommended by Teco People's Gas). After reviewing the website and calling a number of companies on Teco's website that said they install gas ranges only to be told that they didn't, we finally found First Quality Gas. My first telephone contact which was the phone # on Teco's website (904) 704-6693 lead me to an individual who was friendly enough but very difficult to hear since he was on the job in a new construction site with banging in the background. Turns out they were doing a job in our development. He explained that he handled the commercial side and his brother, Joe, handled the residential side. Since he was on a job, he didn't have access to paper/pen and suggested I call Joe's cell phone # (904) 545-4692 in 30 minutes. The fact that they didn't have an answering service is the only reason I rated them a and quot;Band quot; in professionalism. However, they're responsiveness throughout this debacle was excellent. Joe quoted me a price of $115 to hook up the range and install a flex line with a shut-off valve. I didn't get another quote to determine whether or not this was competitive. He did state that we needed someone else to move the stove from the garage to the slot in the kitchen.

As all kitchen remodels go, our dates changed and Joe worked flexibly with us on this. When Joe and his helper, Leon, arrived on time, they hooked up the necessary lines to the house. Joe asked us if the stove was new? I digress, the stove we purchased was on the floor and was explained to us that it had been delivered before to a home that was equipped with a 220 outlet and returned. We now discover that the stove's orifices had been converted to LP (we have natural gas). Joe didn't have the necessary tool with him to convert the orifices back to natural gas and pointed out that one of the orifices in the bag of accessories was stripped and we had a bent shaft leading to the knob. This clearly became an issue with the appliance store. Unfortunately, we are without use of a stove for 4-5 days.

Joe @ First Quality Gas reduced the price from $115 to $105 which was appreciated. Something about the flex line?

I was obviously disappointed that we didn't get the desired result; however, they seemed to be very knowledgable in their field.
