"Good afternoon ma'am, I wanted to reach out and offer my sincerest apologies for the inconveniences you encountered during this process. After reading your review, reading over your file, and speaking with staff we simply could have done a better job trying to place the dumpster more to the side. Typically we do place the dumpster in front of the garage as it's the easiest place from which to dump roofing debris, but more importantly, so customers won't drive beside the debris trailer and get nails in tires; or worse step on one while the project is in progress. Our goal with every customer is to provide one of a kind service and it appears we did not meet that standard with you. It was quite hectic for a long time after the hurricane trying to service so many people in need, but that is no excuse. I'm appreciative of your review because without honest feedback I do not know where we make mistakes for training and accountability. Just as you stated you called me about some leftover debris and we came immediately out to rectify it. That is the type of company we strive to be. We can't always be perfect but when we do come up short, we work hard to make things right immediately. I was pleased to hear that your did not have any issues with your roof and are happy with the price and workmanship. Again, I offer my sincerest apologies for the trailer miscommunication and some left over debris. Once we were able to establish that we not only could match the competitor's materials, which brought the price down, Bob also offered some of his commission back into the contract just as a thank you for working so closely with him. Your project was quite the experience and after fighting on your behalf with the insurance company for so long we finally succeeded! As you found out, insurance claims can be quite confusing and tedious, but you were always willing to work right along with us to get the information we needed in a timely manner and that helped so much. We spend a lot of time and money training our employees in insurance claims so they can alleviate the stress you as the homeowner have to go through. It was wonderful to hear it was money well spent. We don't "storm chase" and work within unethical boundaries against insurance companies to earn business, Mr. Wilbanks and Mr. Sorensen will not allow unethical behavior and anything that goes against our core values; however, this one was truly deserved and we were happy to help you navigate the bureaucratic red tape. "Good afternoon sir, I'm sorry to read that you were less than satisfied with our service. Your points all deserve merit and are unfortunately true. I do offer they are in-excusable, but they are still explainable which the owner discussed with you at the project. It's still our fault and we must take full responsibility for our shortcomings. The job should of in fact been a two day job as you pointed out and normally would of been. On Friday the three man crew showed up minus one employee who went MIA and was not answering his phone. Originally we did not send a large crew as the project size did not safely allow more employees on the roof. In this business things happen like this from time to time with laborers, and we didn't other employees to re-direct from other projects or we would have sent them over (needless to say he was not retained for the exact reason stated on your review, it makes Excel look bad). On Saturday the crew was again down the same man and the foreman received a call stating his son had been in a severe accident and they left immediately for the emergency. Family emergencies do happen; however, I agree that he should have communicated that with you prior to leaving, even in such haste. They did in fact leave the yard a mess during their quick departure and we can only apologize for that. We take cleanup very seriously as part of our training for both safety and cosmetic reasons. While I can sympathize with receiving a phone call such as he did we should have done more for you. Sunday only one employee came out in hopes to make amends for the previous day. Normally our crews do not work on Sunday as that is the only day of rest they get. But he wanted to come out, even if by himself to keep the project moving. The foreman was not there due to the son's condition. Clearly this project was just a mess from the beginning for us logistically and we did fall short of your expectations. The positive I read, and which is also why I'm glad you rated us a "C" and not an "F" is that the owner personally came out, explained our logistical obstacles, and got the problems fixed to your satisfaction immediately. To me as a normal consumer we all know problems arise; however, it's how a company handles them when they do that I feel that sets them apart. Therefore, I'm glad you were happy with our workmanship and dedication to ensuring your satisfaction. Again, thank you for the "C" rating as that shows you are an understanding person. "Good afternoon Sir, My name is Robert and I am the Director of Operations at Excel Roofing Contractors. I was made aware of your review and looked into the file. I wanted to touch base as I was concerned to read "he would have come down if I had pushed him." I hope you will contact our office so we can personally discuss this as I'm sure it was a miscommunication. By that statement I took it to mean that we might have been able to compete a bit further against another company. We do pride ourselves on fair pricing and yes, at times, we can drop our pricing "some." Unfortunately you did not put how much "he could have dropped it," as oftentimes we drop $50 or a slight amount to secure your business - after we company materials being used etc., to ensure apples-to-apples being quoted. We train our estimators to tell people we can compete if necessary with proof we need to, that is normally standard practice. I'm sorry to hear you feel cheated as that goes against our companies core principles. As for the sealant: the home inspector is just that, a paid inspector hired and paid to find problems with homes. If he/she does not find problems, or act as an alarmist, many consumers will take that to mean he/she is incompetent or not thorough. That being said, I also researched to see if we had returned over the years to fix any leaks. I discovered we had not returned to the property at all since we completed the project so I was happy to hear that while the home inspector personally felt there wasn't enough sealant, the county inspectors felt there was enough when they passed the final inspection, and the workmanship was at a level that the roof handled years of harsh Florida weather with no integrity issues. I really hope you will take the time to call me. I'd love the opportunity to discuss this at length. I always tell consumers we welcome any and all reviews as it only helps our company grow and also gives us the opportunity to respond and educate others who may read them.
