His subs are people who invested a lot of money in this spray foam equipment but did not (and probably never will) do what it takes to generate those leads. So Stan books your job and hands it off to some people over whom he exerts minimal control. And there is no assurance they will be the same people from one job to the next.
If you have a complaint afterwards (as I did and as a close friend did) forget it, you will get no satisfaction from Stan. His involvement ends when he races over to the job site, maybe before the work is even finished, to collect a check because his guys need gas money to get their equipment back to wherever they are based (Waycross, Savannah, etc.)
In my case, the actual work was performed by Thermal Contractors, based out of Waycross, GA. Ever see "Deliverance?" Well, suffice it to say that the crew was rather colorful. I could hear "Dueling Banjos." Unfortunately, although they were generally helpful and pleasant and took meticulous care to wrap up any items in the basement where they were working, I suepct one of them must have relived himself in the chemical vat because the job stank for months. And I mean "stank", like living over a toxic waste dump. Almost intolerable, every so often a big blob of noxious fumes would drift upstairs into the living areas of our home.
Mr. Nagle had assured us this would not happen but there was nothing he co0uld, or would do, when we pleaded with him for remediation. Oh well, after a year or more the smell abated and the excellent spray foam job remained.
So what to say about this outfit: If you really have an issue with their work, you will have trouble figuring out from whom to seek recourse and the company itself may be more-or-less judgment proof with few assets. The subs are probably not licensed to work out of their home states, if there. Who will ever know? You won't know who';s d*** the work until a truck shows up, long after you paid Nagle his deposit etc.
On the other hand, there is value in salesmanship and Stan is a great if roguish salesman. He got me to buy the job, who knows if I would have ever pulled the trigger without his empty reassurances and confident mien. So chalk me up as "so-so". I'd warn a friend before letting him buy from thisw outfit but I would not absolutely rule it out either.
"[Member Name Removed], Back in 2008 yes were struggling to buy a truck and trailer at a cost of approximately 100K. We were a new outfit and had to other subs to get the job done as well as be at their mercy if there was any problems. It is now 2017 and we own 3 rigs and all employees have been with me for 8 years. I have completed over 3000 jobs in Jax and if we ever have an issue it is attended to immediately. All past issues aside could you please tell me how the foam has worked for you over the years? I vaguely recall this as a subfloor installation."
"Mrs. [Member Name Removed], At the time of your job I was parting ways with a co-owner and had to deal with a lot of surprise bills in addition to carrying the whole financial load. The supplier always sends out Notice to Owner forms like with any construction(roofing etc.) to make sure they will be paid. A lien was never placed on any customers home and we have never had any problem since 2009. It was a difficult time but we overcame it. We have now completed over 3000 homes in Jax and are #1 in our market. It has been 8 years since your install an I would like your feedback on the sprayfoam performance. I am truly sorry for the problem at the time, growing pains but overcome."
