At Emed primary care & walk in clinic, our staff and physicians are committed to providing outstanding primary care services. Experts in primary care, we work together as a team to deliver comprehensive and compassionate care with minimal waiting times, and we are happy and ready to care for those with insurance from the affordable care act known as Obama Care. Emed Primary Care in Jacksonville, Florida is a one-of-a-kind center that specializes in Medical Weight Loss Programs with Approved medications such as ADIPEX, Urgent Care, Walk-In Clinic, Automobile Accident treatment,Workers Compensation, Addiction treatment and our new Emed Aesthetic Center. The Aesthetic Center provides a wide variety of services such as Laser Hair Removal, Laser Tattoo Removal, Toenail Fungus Removal, Jessner chemical peels and more. With onsite X-Ray and lab capabilities we are able to meet 90 percent of the health needs of patients 6 months of age and up. We also provide sports physicals and Allergy testing and more. We are open 8:30am to 5:00pm M-F. Emed accepts most major insurance carriers, including Medicaid, and also offers competitive self-pay options.

I just relocated to Jacksonville Florida. I look up Medicaid physicians/walk-in clinics/urgent care and found Emed. They had really great reviews so I called to make an appointment. I'm told it on Fridays they do not make appointment it's for walk-ins only. They asked me if I know where they're located and tell me to come on in and make sure I'm here before three because they close at four. As sick as I am, I get in my vehicle and drive the 30 minute drive over here. I come in.... do all the signing up...insurance, etc.... and I'm told that they can't see anybody until the afternoon and give me a 1 o'clock APPOINTMENT.... first off I was told there were no appointments on Friday, second I was told to come on over here and they would see me. Nobody likes a run around, especially when they are this sick... I don't doubt the doctors are good based on the reviews. Unfortunately, I don't have the gas, the time, or the patience for bad office management or misinformation... I will not be back....

Problem is they draw 5 tubes of blood every 3 months. The people that draw the blood do not know what they are doing. They put on the tourniquet under my arm instead of above the elbow. They complained that I was not bleeding into the tube. I was in so much pain that I almost passed out. They took the tourniquet off and then complained that I was bleeding all over the office. They asked me if I was on blood thinners which I am not. Immediately after that horrible experience, another person came in to draw blood out of the back of my hand! It is so horrible I am considering changing doctors. I am still having bad dreams about it. I complained to the physician assistant that I was gaining weight and she asked me if I wanted a flu shot. I think she is overwhelmed and distracted. Don't want it to seem all negative, the office staff is wonderful and the regular doctors are excellent there. They have some technicians that weigh and do vitals. Those people are excellent and everyone there is very nice...it's just that the phlebotomy people have no idea what they are doing. They need to still be in training schools.
