Great - the home a rental property and the stove went out on Easter.  I ordered the part and was looking for someone to replace it for a reasonable price.  I contracted Electric Mechanic Appliance Repair over the phone and made sure I could pay by credit card (which I could and even received an email receipt for my records).  Electric Mechanic Appliance Repair schedule the repair with the renter in the home and took care of the issue very quickly.  Their fee was less then other companies that wanted $100-$150 for this repair and they communicated well and were professional.  I will use them again for appliance repairs.

.Total failure had to buy a new washing machine. He is a fine gentleman and I wish him no ill will, but this seamed out of his depth. He called someone on the phone for advise. He followed it took hours for him to hook it up and the controller only to find it did not work.He attempted to put old controller in to get it to repeat failure codes and it was not working either he was frustrated..As was I. Bless his heart he gave a full effort but the result were poor. Bottom line We paid over $800 for a new washer.plus cost of board and install.and many wasted hours.

Mr. Hayes was very nice - fixed the washer in about 10 minutes. Said minor repairs were part of the service call. I was pleased with the service and the repair. I would definitely call Mr. Hayes again.

The service man did not stay to assure the unit worked it did not work. I called a 2nd repairman in found that the cancel button was stuck/jammed and unit would not work. The whole thing had to be taken apart and reinstalled. The service man was nice and was dressed professional. He had to call for help when removing the knob on the front. I also helped move the dryer for he being of small frame and older looked to be struggling with lifting dryer off stackable washer. He took far to long and that is why he did not test the unit to see if it worked.I would not recommend or use him again although I believe him to be a nice man.I paid by check and it has been cashed. I have not called him to complain only thing he could do is refund money.

After reading about Jim on Angie's list and reading the reviews, we decided to call him. On the first call my wife spoke with him and gave him a summary of the issue which was: the washing machine was spinning out all of the water from the clothes. a problem that we had been experiencing on and off for a number of years, sometimes so bad that we had to manually remove the remaining water from the clothes. After a short while it would go begin making bad thumping noises and then stop and show an and quot; unbalancedand quot; (uL) error message on the display. He asked for the manufacturer and model number of the washer and after being told, he indicated that there may be a simple solution without involving him. He told my wife to:
1. Unplug the washing machine
2. Moves the back and forth side to side back and forth.
3. Plug the washer back in.
4. Run the washer through a normal wash cycle
After performing the steps, the washer did appear to work better; it did not go into unbalanced mode, there was no stopping, and more water was extracted from the clothes. However there was still too much water remaining in the clothes to put them into the dryer without manually wringing the water out of the clothes.
We then called Jim back and asked him to come out and give us an estimate of doing a repair. At this time it had become urgent to get it repaired.due to my wife preparing to have radioactive iodine treatment to kill any remaining cancer from a thyroidectomy. The doctor had indicated that all of her clothes that she would be wearing needed to be removed daily and washed separately on a daily basis. This was to remove any radioactivity from her clothes as well as to make the area safer for both her and her spouse. (Me) although Jim already had a full schedule, was kind enough to make us the first call of the day the following day.
When he arrived, he quickly diagnose the problem and called the appliance parts warehouse for a confirmation and a consensus on his diagnosis. It was determined that the transmission as well as the gasket on the drum would need to be
replaced at an estimated cost of $400 for parts and labor.
He left our home and went to pick up the transmission and gasket at the appliance part company. Later in the day, he called with bad news: Although the part was available, he had determined after talking with the Whirlpool Representative, as well as doing some research on the Internet for this particular issue that even though the part would solve the problem, it would only be a temporary solution. Evidently the issue is the result of other problems existing in the washer including the drum itself. In addition this particular model was known as one in which this issue commonly appeared.
Therefore, it would be fruitless to spend the additional money to purchase a drum and other necessary parts (approximately another $400 parts and labor) and then have the problem recur later. At this point we were faced with the option of a “throwaway” Maytag/Whirlpool washer that had originally cost almost $1500 or pay for a repair that would be more than
half of the value of the washer when it was brand-new. We therefore opted to not repair the washer but to look for an option to replace it with either a new one or a used one in good condition.
Jim was kind enough to provide us with references to various stores in our area that might provide us an alternative to quickly purchase a new, refurbished or bent/dented washer. Unfortunately we were unable to find anything in our price range that would provide us with any confidence that the replacement washer would be any better than the one that needed to be replaced.
When we need a repair of any appliance or items that Jim is capable of doing, he will be the first person we will call. As a side note, Jim is a good Christian man who cares more about helping others more than he does helping himself. Even though Jim spent the better part of an entire day working on our behalf, he did not charge us a dime. This is a rare occurrence in today’s society. Whether or not you believe in God or some other supreme being or not at all, this man cares about his fellow man. The world needs more people like him.
I could not give him a higher recommendation.

I placed a call to Mr. Hayes and left a message. He returned my call later that same day. After I explained my problem, he asked for the model number of my oven and said he would pick up the element before coming to my house, thus saving a return trip and an added expense. He arrived the next day as promised with the element in hand. After 45 minutes or so, after replacing the element and checking to make sure it worked, he gave me info on what to do the next time,if ever, the element caught fire. I highly recommend Mr. Hayes to anyone who needs appliance repair done. He knew what he was doing!!

The man is honest; however, he seemed more personable and helpful in the past (I used his services several years ago). This time around, he really didn't provide detailed answers to my questions. Overall, the job was well done, and the price was about average.

The seal on my washing machine had a chunk out of it, which caused my washer to leak. I called Electrical/Mechanical, told them what I needed, and they said they would have the part in 2 days. They quoted me the price over the phone before they even arrived.
'The repairmen showed up on time, got the job done, were VERY friendly and knowledgeable about what they were doing. They didn't rush, and got the job done in less than an hour. Very nice gentlemen!! I will definitely use this company again! The price they quoted me was the same price that they charged me when the job was done. ***Highly recommended!! =-)

The fellow who did the work for us was just a doll. He was an older guy. He said he doesn't charge enough. He came out and found what the problem was. He repaired it. His name is James Hays. He is wonderful. He did a great job. I will recommend him highly to anybody and everybody. He does a superb job. He had a lot of stuff going and took a lot of time to get here, but when he got here, he was great. I absolutely will use him again.

Found one good report on Angies List. Called to repair wine cooler on a Thurs 4-5 days before Christmas. Told them not an emergency but would appreciate being able to use for my Christmas guests. Then, took 4-5 phone followups after repeated, failed promises to show up (from both Jim and his son). Finally came on New Years eve with obvious apprentice whom Jim was trying to train. Took much longer than it should b/c apprentice way overfilled with freon and then had to bleed down. Only got down to 66 degrees (with setpoint of 45 deg) while there but told me it would take up to 24 hrs to stabilize and charged me $167. Started losing cooling as soon as they left. 24 hrs later temp back up to 75 degr. I assumed that there must be a leak they didn't find and trashed the unit today. Jim is a very nice man but seems overwhelmed and business out of control.

The work went well, but after Mr Hays left, I ran the dishwasher and smelt the electrical burning smell which occurred when the machine first broke down, although not nearly so strongly. After looking online, I found out that the manufacturer had upgraded the original board as it had been prone to burn out because of electrical surges. The new board turned out to be the old version of the board. But, at no extra cost to me, Mr Hays came back, and although the first repair was still good, he replaced it with an upgraded board and thermal cutoff kit. As well as being conscientious, Mr Hays was very pleasant to deal with.

I had to give a B in responsiveness because I called on Monday morning and he said he would call me after he finished his morning schedule, but he didn't call back that afternoon. I decided to give him a 2nd chance and left him a message Tuesday afternoon, and he called me back that evening. He apologized for not getting back to me, saying he had hurt his foot on Monday morning's job, and so he had fallen way behind, but he could be at my house around noon on Wednesday. He called about 15 minutes out, arrived and figured out the problem- the defrost sensor was kaput. One hour later he was all done (most of the time was needed to defrost the freezer). He was friendly and helpful and courteous above and beyond. I am so glad I gave him a 2nd call! He's definitely the first one I'll call with any other appliance problems I have while my husband is deployed.

I called this company at 7:40 am on a Sauturday after I recieved a phone call from my tenants that the freezer portion of the fridge had totally thawed out and wasn't cooling. I recieved a call back in about 20 minutes and explained the details of the issue with the fridge. Mr. Hayes explained what he thought the problem was, and answered some warranty questions (the fridge was still under 5 year partial manufactures warranty). He also explained that if the problem was what he thought, the whole fridge was going to be warm, not just the freezer, before too long. I asked him if he could come out that day and do the repair and he was at the house in a few hours. My tenants were so impressed they asked me for his info so they could use him again at a new house they are purchasing. Very impressive and reasonable in price, another great Angieslist find!

Had a refrigerator stop cooling in a rental property. I called Electric Mechanic based on an Angie's List rating and had to leave a message, but Jim returned my call promptly. He explained his rates, which seemed reasonable. After listening to the symptoms, he gave me an estimate based on the most likely cause. He contacted my tenant, arranged to meet him on site within an hour, and had the repair done within two hours. Jim was courteous and professional.
