From the first contact, John Olson was responsive and kept in touch via phone until he made his home visit. He cleaned up the computer and, although he was uncertain about the source of the problem, after nearly 2 1/2 hours, he was able to get it running again as it should. He is professional, personable, and persistent in completing the job. I have had enough experience with computer repair to recognize competence and, without question, would use his services again.

They fixed the obvious problem with my laptop and then identified the underlying problem I'd been dealing with since it was purchased 15 months ago. Bad installation of Windows and third party installs by the initial vendor had always been problematic. I am now writing this on a speedy, cleaned-up, happy laptop. The techs were knowledgeable and patient. The fix took longer than I expected but it is well worth the time and money to have things working well at last.

Performed actions without my consent. Did not adequately describe work done and needed to correct their work by backing up info and converting to Google Chrome without my knowledge

I thought the price was very expensive. The price on both visits was just too high. He was at our home for only two hours. The work was very mediocre and I was not impressed with his service at all. I thought the service was a rip off.

These guys are TERRIFIC! My wife is an insurance broker and her computer is her most important tool. Hers has had a history of crash issues. She found Doctor PC on Angie's List and they got her back up and running and completely resolved her hardware problems. They do quality work in a timely manner and are fairly priced. They even made an unsolicited follow up phone call to make sure things were running smoothly. We highly recommend their services in the Jacksonville market.

They kept the computer for almost 2 weeks, and did not perform as advertised. They claimed it was impossible to repair the damaged system, and they had to format the hard drive and re-install a new version of the operating system. Before doing so they transferred all the data on the affected drive, but, of course, this meant that I had to re-install all programs and much of the data, particularly email, was lost.
Instead of the $79 quoted charge, they charged an additional $20 for transferring the data. They said they did they did not charge the usual extra $50 for installing the operating system. I was not informed of any of these charges before they did the work. The first I knew of it was when I picked up the computer.
I feel strongly that they misled me, and that they chose not to discover the cause of the problem and then repair the system, but just to do the simple thing, and replace the system. In doing this, they caused me many extra hours of wok to restore the computer to a semblance of its original condition.

Took my mother's computer to them because it was powering off and on in a cycle until unplugged from the wall. They replaced the Motherboard and the Powersupply and I took the computer back to my mother's house. She lives out of town and soon the computer was doing the same thing but mother was reluctant to tell us she was having the same problem ( she is in her 80's). We finally went and got the computer and brought all of it back to our house and hooked it up and after it ran perfectly for 48 hours it started having the same problem.

John came out to the house and worked on both computers simultaneously. He installed new/better virus protection software and cleaned up both computers. He showed me how to use the new software and gave me some other tips as well. The next day, I found that the virus was still there, so I called. John was able to remotely go in and work on both computers to get the problem solved at no additional charge. I would HIGHLY recommend Doctor PC and will definitely use them again if needed.

On Tuesday night, my computer got hit with a virous. It was a cmctl32.dll virous. Since this company had installed my computer last year, and I had been satisfied, I called them again. My husband took the laptop by DoctorPC and left it. Apparently a lot of local computers got hit with this same virous on the same day.
They said that it would be ready be Friday or Saturday. That was fine with me.
When they called on Thursday and said it was ready for pickup, I was thrilled.
My computer works fine and I had no data loss because of the virous.
I would recommend this company to anybody that needs computer services. They are professional, quick and priced right.

I broke the pin jack in my lap top. it would no longer charge so I figured I was going to have to buy a new one. I decided to call a repair shop just in case it could be fixed. I am so glad I did. These guys know what they are doing. I described my problem and they knew exactly what I was talking about without even having looked at the machine. They gave me a solid estimate of what the work was going to cost and did not exceed it. They did not try to and quot;upselland quot; me on anything either which I completely appreciated. As a matter of fact once they got my machine open they noticed the fan was not functioning properly because it was clogged with debris so it was not cooling the laptop as it should. Even though that is not what I brought the machine in for they cleaned it up for me to make sure the fan would work properly. Then they gave me tips on what to do to make my machine last longer.
The repair I actually brought it in for was completed within 48 hours of me bringing it in. They called me when they got it open to confirm what the problem was and confirm the work they would do to it. They were professional and awesome to deal with every step of the way.

John came to the house promptly and as requested checked out an old Dell computer, did some general maintenance and back up. He re installed software and also set up a router to the connection upstairs so I would be able to use a new laptop elsewhere in my home. I showed him the new laptop I had just purchased. He had trouble getting it to load and before waiting much longer, he suggested I send back the laptop and purchase another that did not have problems with the initial set up. I could have gone to various computer stores and the Navy Exchange to purchase a new laptop, but I asked John what he would suggest. He told me a Lenovo would suit my needs. I asked him to bring one to my home, but it was on back order, He returned a week later with the new laptop, installed the software transferred the data, and showed me how to use the new computer.
The router he had installed worked fine initially, but when it lost the internet access...(it happened a couple of times while he was at my home,) he told me how to go upstairs and unplug a connection - wait a few seconds and plug it back in. He did not know why I kept losing the signal - but he thought it might be the location of the laptop in various places in my home or perhaps my phone usage while on the computer. The problem with the router was beginning to cause me much frustration. As this installation and purchase was just before the Christmas holidays, I was gone from my home for several weeks. I mentioned to my sister my problems with the router, and after seeing the size of her house and where she used her laptop...(without ever losing her service or having to unplug the router) when I returned to my home- I called John and told him what I learned from her. Instead of having another trip charge for John to come to my home and exchange the router, he told me how to unplug the router, remove the connections and asked me to take it back to his store. He was not able to give me the same brand router, because the store was out of stock..but he gave me another brand. It said it was a re furbished router on the box, but he said it would not matter. I took it back to my home re installed it the way he told me and I've not had any dropped internet since the exchange was made.I am happy with the Lenovo laptop and I am able to use it anywhere in the house, apparently the first router was a dud.

Took 7 days to complete task. I consider this too long. Company offers a and quot;premiumand quot; service that prioritized your job getting onto their tech's work bench faster.
My wife passed away shortly after work completed. I called company to see if they could help me and quot;crackingand quot; her password. Quoted me a Discounted $59.00 (from $79.00) price or a premium price, $79.00 to work on immmediately. I found process Google to erase passwords back to the off the shelf mode.
Personally, given the short time after service had been performed and circumstances of wife's passing, I was disappointed that the company would not more sympathetic to my circumstances.

Response from DOCTOR PC
"We can confirm that Member did call to solicit free service at the end of November 2012. He asked if we had a password on file for his late wife's computer, which we did not... and if we did have a password on file, we would never give a password out over the phone. We offered a discount rate to help with his situation and are sorry that we are not in a position to work for free. We were saddened to hear about the loss of our longtime loyal client. In response to the previous service performed in October: Repair was checked in at 1:12 PM on 10/3/12. Work was completed within the 5 business day quoted time frame which was stated when dropped off (work was documented as completed in 4 business days). Client was called 10/9/12 and informed complete. Client did not pick up repair until 11:28 AM on 10/12/12. Our "Premium" service offers our system optimization feature set. Our "Expedited" service offers the option for faster service. It is important to note that this client did not solicit our "Expedited" service for the additional $30 fee. Respectfully, John Olson"

I called on Thursday afternoon and asked about a home visit on Friday, to do the things listed above. John was very helpful, but said that he doubted he could do it on Friday, the next day because of other appointments and the fact that his other tech was leaving early that day.To my surprise, he called Friday morning and we made arrangements for him to come that afternoon. He was very courteous, professional and accomodating. He did what I needed and more.I will certainly call DRPC again if I need any more computer services. Thanks John!

I am very happy with the service I received.
Colton was very polite, knowledgeable and helpful. Everything was cleared out and my computer works like a charm now. Fast internet speeds again!
He explained to me what he was going to do and what the problem was, then logged in my request and put identification stickers on my laptop and power cord. He fixed it and explained what he removed and added to my computer.
They also have online tech support. You can give them remote access to your computer so that they can attempt to fix things without you having to take your computer into the store! I have a new, separate issue with my laptop and will be trying out the remote access today...
