Our cat needed to have a workup done by the cardiologist. We had to drop him off in the morning. He was sedated and had an echocardiogram done. The issue came afterwards. We never received a call from the clinic that he was ready to go home. Finally we called at 5 pm and they said to come get him. When we did arrive, they basically were going to give us the cat and that was it. We told them we wanted to know what the results were of the consult. They handed us the written report by the cardiologist and told us Dr. Jacobs would call the next day. Dr. Jacobs never called. The written report from the cardiologist was not written for a lay person. We were fortunate that we are in the medical field and could understand it, but we are astounded that so little effort was made toward having us understand our cat's health.

After receiving inadequate care from another provider, I was extremely pleased with the attention and advice the vet gave to me and my dog. Instead of going the most expensive route for determining a diagnosis, he provided all options and recommended the most cost-effective and reasonable choice. He even helped me load my (100-lb) dog back into the car. We have definitely switched vets!

Coastal has taken great care of my cats since 2010. The staff is friendly, efficient and compassionate. Dr. Bissell is great. He spends time with my cats and I am confident with each diagnosis. They were all so kind to me when my 18 year old cat passed away. It was so comforting. They even helped me to name my new cat! I moved away from the beach recently and I am reluctant to find a new Vet. I might just drive 30 minutes to continue with this practice.

I guess it went OK. People aren't really allowed to see what goes on in camp. I know my dog and he's well socialized into play camps and dog parks so I didn't have any concerns there. But the staff who handle the dogs don't bother greeting the animals. They just put them on a chock leash and hold super tight (not in response to anything the dog did, just their default control approach.) Hmmm - Why are you choking and restraining my dog? You're freaking him out and correcting him for nothing he did wrong...
And even though there was all this emphasis put on a behavioral assessment to ensure my dog would play well with others, there are no toys or tennis ball in the dog camps [and quot;Because some dogs are toy aggressive'] Which in some ways is a valid argument, but why all the noise about a formal assessment then?
So, a lack of toys to engage with forces the dogs to engage more physically with each other, and the result... my dog developed the very bad habit of h****** people and other dogs when playing. :( Before going to this camp, his behavior was to run around with whatever toy he wanted you to play with and stick it in the face of another dog or try to give it to a human.
I only say I will use them again because they are conveniently located. But this will not be a regular camp. I will drive the extra 10 minutes.

I take my 2 dogs to Dr. Avery and she is great. I live in Mandarin but the drive is worth it!

They have been helping my dog. The price was fair and they follow up with me every time I go there which is fantastic. If there is an issue with my pet, they would call in a day or two to check on it. I have seen all the vets there and they have all been great.

We drive all the way over for 45 minutes from here to where we used to live because we love this veterinarian. All the veterinarians here are, very expensive; and there aren't any that really, low cost. They gave me a free visit because they are trying to figure out what is the issue is with, my dog; they, are good.

Dr. Scott Jacobs is my veterinarian. He has a great bedside manner, and is very professional. He is willing to take the time to thoroughly explain things to you.

. This place gives special services for all these problems. There are couple of doctors there that I don't care about but all of them care for the animals. The doctor that we go to knows about all our dogs, their names and what they are like. That is nice. He looks at things more in depth than other vets. This doctor was the one who diagnosed that one of our pets was suffering from diabetics. People would say that she has a urinary tract problem. This doctor looked into it more where he had gone three years without knowing this and diagnosed that she was diabetics. The staff treats you like you are ignorant. It is not their fault. Probably because they deal with people who have no idea about the field and so rub you the wrong way. Price wise they are little bit expensive. I would recommend them to others. I would use them in the future.

Two weeks later I took my cats to petcaravan (petcaravan.com) when they were scheduled to be in the area. I asked for the stated innoculations and was told that rabies innoculation was all that was necessary. The cost was $10.00 for each cat for one year. I called the local animal control division and was told that only the rabies vaccine was necessary for admission into a State-appointed friendly shelter. The cats were vaccinated.

This last visit was for our dog's acupuncture treatment. Our dog limps badly on occasion so we decided to try the acupuncture. My husband was very skeptical at first but not anymore. We see a major difference . . . the limp is gone. It has been going so well that she will probably go to a "maintenance" type schedule following her next visit.
