"Hunt Land Services warranties the lawns we install providing the customer follows their obligations to keep the lawn healthy. No other landscape company in Jacksonville will provide this type of warranty for new sod. We warranty the acctual sod we put down that it will grow and survive. We do not gaurantee that no weeds will grow or that no errosion will occur or that insects will not destroy the lawn. No landscaping company can provide a warranty for this. The customers requirements are that they must water according to Jacksonville Electric Authorities specifications for watering. They hire a qualified / approved lawn service company like Peninsular Pest Control to fertilize, prevent insects and weeds, and that they maintain the lawn (mow at a specific height) based on the species of grass. The customer advised me of the weeds in the lawn. We told them that they would need to contact Peninsular Pest Control. Peninsular came out and looked at the lawn to spray for weeds and told them that certain types of weeds in their lawn would not respond to chemicals and would need to be pulled by hand. The customer advised Hunt Land Services. Hunt Land services told the customer that the warranty does not gauranttee no weeds will grow and that they would need to pull the weeds. We offered to pull the weeds for a fee and the customer ageed to $20 per hour to have two people pull weeds. We pulled the weeds from the lawn for four hours and never billed the customer for the labor as a courtesy. Hunt Land Services observed the lawn on two occasions after the weeds had been pulled. The customer was not maintaining the lawn by keeping it mowed to a specific height. The weeds were allowed to grow to an excess of 12 inches high. This in itself will void the warranty. Hunt Land services will still honor the warranty for this customer and replace at no charge any areas of dead zoysia grass. The customer must show that the weeds have been controlled by Peninsular Pest Control or by physically pulling the chemically intreatable weeds. The lawn must also be maintained to a height of no more than 4.5 inches, including weeds. The customer must show a JEA bill with the water usage confirming that the lawn is being watered."
