CALLED AND RESCHEDULED FIRST APPOINTMENT
 
DID NOT SHOW FOR RESCHEDULED APPOINTMENT. I CALLED STEVE (THE REP FOR SAINT AUGUSTINE - WHO LIVES LESS THAN 1/2 MILE FROM MY HOME) AT THE TIME HE WAS SUPPOSE TO SHOW. HE SAID HE COULDN'T MAKE IT AND NEEDED TO RESCHEDULE. IF I HADN'T CALLED HIM I WOULD STILL BE WAITING. DURING OUR CALL HE GAVE ME A NEW DAY/TIME AND BEFORE THE CALL ENDED HE ALREADY CHANGED THE TIME AGAIN.
 
I TOLD HIM HE DID NOT NEED TO COME TO MY HOME AS I WILL BE USING SOMEONE ELSE. SOMEONE THAT IS DEPENDABLE, CONSIDERATE, PROFESSIONAL AND TRUSTWORTHY - NOT CARPET MAN!!!
 
TO BAD FOR STEVE AND CARPET MAN - I AM REPLACING 100% OF MY CARPET/FLOORING  (APPROX. 3000 SQ. FT).
 

Can't say enough good things about The Carpet Man. They came to the house to leave samples and give me an estimate, they did exactly what they said they would do for the price, installer was very professional, results were perfect.

Dave Lange coordinated all details for ordering and installing carpet and tile in my 
mother's small home. He recommend materials, produced samples, expedited orders and
coordinated every aspect of the installation tailored around my schedule and budget. He has execellent
communication skills and a talent for reading and responding to clients needs. He made everything
work and in a timely manor.  I really could not find a downside with this experience so I would
highly recommend him and Carpetman Flooring.

We had to call them out a couple of times to fill in the hardwood floors. They had to drill holes and fill in because, the glue didn't thicken like it should have. It looks beautiful, it was when we walked on it, it creaked. The price was for tile, carpet, and installation. The price was fair, we have used them in the past, and they are always less money. I think it was good quality. They were supposed to start with the hardwood, and they ended up starting with the carpet. They messed us up because, the other guy was painting, and it made for a sticky time. When someone is painting, you don't want to put down carpet. They did a fairly good job and the carpet was perfect. It was the first time that we have ever had hardwood flooring but, it was kind of up setting for us. They were very punctual.

The Carpet Man provided the best pricing and was able to install the next day. Ron the manager is very professional and courteous. I highly recommend them. AAA +++  Service, Price and Selection.

We had a very good experience with the Carpet Man. Steve, the salesman, was recommended by a friend. He was extremely helpful. They had a very large selection of carpet at the store and it was a little daunting trying to whittle down the selection. We settled on a few different designs and a week later Steve came out to the house to show us our picks. He took measurements and presented us with a price. I thought it was a little high at first but he was able to sharpen his pencil and we came away with a good deal. I signed the contract and put down a $1000 deposit. I asked for a certain install date and that's the date we had the carpet installed.

The day of the installation went smooth. I already had the rooms cleared of furniture and the carpeting removed. This saved me about $1 per sq ft. The rooms were straight forward and didn't require any seams. The crew checked the tack strips all the way around and they did not waste anytime. I was very happy with their performance.

It went great. We even had some difficult areas to do and they did them beautifully.

I went to their showroom and their selection was fair. Isaiah assisted me in picking out the right product. He was also there to supervise the install and make sure everything went well. The installation was contracted out to Chris Mills Carpet Installation.

Awesome experience AGAIN. Ron helped us pick the perfect carpet. Had old carpet removed a week prior to install at our request. Installation was flawless. Will use The Carpet Man for all my future carpet needs.

I had inherited my mother's 50 year old home. The furniture was removed. Old carpet and pad removed, including tack strips which showed signs of rot around doors. I had some cracks (from settling) in the drywall and 50 years of nail holes from pictures and decorations repaired. I cleaned and painted everything from the ceiling to baseboards. The last major step was carpeting to get the house ready for sale.
I told my story to the salesman. He immediately knew not to waste my and my wife's time showing us top grade carpet. He showed us some overstock sale samples, but none of these matched our color scheme. We found a medium grade carpet we liked. The salesman quoted the price of the carpet, pad, tack strips (indicating they would be glued rather than nailed), and installation by the square foot. I already had figured the approx. footage so I knew we were in the ballpark of my budget.
The next afternoon the salesman met me at the house, made a quick diagram of the area to be covered, and measured the rooms and closets determing the official square footage. I dropped the carpet store the next day, he showed me an invoice with the price and requested 50% down. I said I would give him a third down and he didn't quibble. The carpet was ordered.
On installation day the crew had to finish another job first so they remeasured the rooms, cut the carpet, and put it in the house. The crew chief made a comment he would drill the terrazo then drive the nails in. I said the salesman had figured the cost based on glueing. The crew chief said he had ran into trouble with the glue pulling loose when the carpet was streched. I indicated I actually preferred nailing, but didn't want the cost to increase.He said, no cost increase.
I said I would have to leave the house by 4pm, would they be back by then. He said he couldn't be sure and did I have a spare key they could use and leave it when they finished? I thought for a second - there wasn't anything of value in the house (I had already removed all my tools and gear) so I showed him where I wanted the key left. At 4pm, no crew.
The next morning as I got out of my car, I glanced through a window - and there was carpet. I checked and there was the key. I went through every room and closet finding the carpet streched tight, edges tucked and even, and I couldn't tell where the carpet was sewn together (like between the living and dining room). The carpet was raked, but there was a lot of loose loops from trimming - it had not been vacuumed. Also, I found a couple of scuffs on the baseboards which the fine print on the invoice stated The Carpet Man wasn't responsible for. These places aren't bad most rubbed off with a cleaner and I have some places I did that need touchups anyway. There were three doors that I had to cut off because there wasn't carpet in them originally - I expected this. I don't know how late the crew worked, but I was completely satisfied.
I called the salesman and told him I owed him some more money.
Would I recommend the Carpet Man? That depends - are you the handy-man type, or just fixing up to sell, have a low budget, etc. If you have an upscale home and expect a "turn key" installation, I thing you would be happier with another company. We have to have new carpet in our own home next year. Will we use The Carpet Man - hmmmm, that depends on how much wallpapering and painting my wife has me do till then.

They're very professional. They went out of their way. The store manager came to the house to do some measurements for us. He did an estimate for us and he got home and said that things just didn't seem right and he looked at it again, found he was off, and called me that night to tell me he was off and the price would be less, which helped out a lot. It was a rainy day when they came to do the installation so they couldn't cut it on the driveway. So they came and they measured it and went back to the store to cut the carpeting there. Then they came back to the house and put it in. They just went out of their way to make sure that it worked. From the management all the way down, I was very impressed with them. They did a really nice job of carpeting our stairs. They tucked it in and stapled it really well; plus they did all the furniture moving.

The salesman mismeasured the rooms so they had to get additional carpet. A one day job took two days. The installer spend a lot of time on his cell phone instead of working. They did a poor job with the seems, they are all showing 3 months after installation . I will never use them again

They were very prompt and even worked on a Sunday. The prices were good and the service was excellent. We are very pleased.

Everything seemed to go well and we decided to choose a more expensive ordered carpet rather than purchase from the warehouse stock. This doubled the price of the job. It seemed pretty simple and the measuring was done by The Carpet Man's employee. He told us how the carpet would run and that it would be one continuous piece from one side of the room to the other. One room went fine and the installer had no problem. However, the other room carpet was about 1 1/2 inches short by the sliding glass door. The installer said he could seam it there which was out of the question as this is a high traffic area and one that gets full sun most of the day. Our other choice was to seam the opposite side which was by the hall door to the room. Again another high traffic area. Had we known beforehand, we would have opted for a wider carpet so there would be no seams but we were assured it would fit "no problem." We told the installer we would have to figure something else out as seaming was not acceptable and perhaps a wood threshold would work. When the store called to see how things went we told them about the problem and suggested since they are a flooring store that it shouldn't be a big deal to them to have one of their wood floor installers put a wood threshold at the door to cover the area. We never heard back. We are TOTALLY DISAPPOINTED IN "The Carpet Man Inc."
