They showed up at 6:30 am 20 days early. When I called Alex Watson (salesman) I never received a call back. When they started repairing the roof they covered up rotten wood that I paid to have replaced. When they replaced the wood they used the wrong thickness and did not use H clips which caused the roof decking to sag when stepped on. The workers dropped large rolls of tarpaper on the roof resulting in broken drywall and cracks in the ceiling and walls. One day after the roof was complete it rained. When we got home from dinner we noticed that the roof leaked damaging the ceiling and soaking our hardwood floors and all of our furniture in the living room. Kyle Maxwell, the owner, finally came out to look at the roof. We came to an agreement on what was an acceptable repair to fix the roof. When the workers ripped up the shingles to repair the leak, we found that they had covered up a large amount of broken wood with tar paper and shingles which was a cause in making the roof leak. The repair that was done was not what was agreed upon between Kyle ( the owner) and myself. Kyle made them come back out again and redo the repair. Again, the repair that was done was not what we agreed upon. When I called Kyle on it, he said "What does it matter? You are selling your house and you can't even see it unless you get on the roof." They sent painters out to paint soffit and facial board and they painted half of it. It looked horrible. After coming back out three times it was done. Not with out getting paint all over the walls of my house though. The workers dropped shingles off the roof denting my garage door, scratching my house all over, and breaking panels on my privacy fence. The entire roof replacement took over 1 month to complete from start to finish and my roof looks like crap. Don't believe there slogan about how they never use subcontractors either. Everyone who came to my house was a subcontractor. They subcontracted a company to do the paint work who subcontracted the painters. It was an absolute disaster from start to finish. 24 hours after I got the final bill I received a notice of lien being put on my home if I didn't pay. The list goes on, it's too much to list. Bottom line....Stay away from this company!
Response from Bigfoot Roofing & Construction Inc

"After the roofing process was complete, you showed to us several items that were damaged and we contacted you to let you know that we would make any repairs necessary to get any damaged items back to their original condition. You chose to have a discount for each item so that you could have them repaired yourself. Unfortunately, things do go wrong during the roofing process but we made every attempt to correct them for you."

Roofing job was decent, the wood repairs were not and needed several call backs to redo. The wind mitigation provided is not adequate for insurance credit . Although our insurance company has emailed them and we ourselves have left numerous phone messages and actually spoke to office personnel once , they have not responded to us.
Response from Bigfoot Roofing & Construction Inc

"I apologize that we have not provided the updated information needed for your wind mitigation. Would it be ok if we contacted you on Monday to discuss and get you what is needed for your insurance co?"

The process went great. The same cant be said for my insurance company as they took their time issuing payment and Bigfoot was awesome in dealing with them. They didnt put any pressure on me to produce the funds while we waited on the insurance company which was nice. The roof looks great and it was overall an awesome process. I would def. do business with them again.

installation was great..timely and attractive on main roof just over one year ago. no complaints about up front installation. warranty/guarantee are sub par at best. have had multiple requests for repair (on flat roofs which are leaking)...with no response. repeatedly told work would be done over the course of exchange of one month.
Response from Bigfoot Roofing & Construction Inc

"We apologize for the experience that you have received. We have been in contact and are in process of repairing their roof."

It went great. The price was very competitive. The crew showed up on time and got it done - in oppressive heat - in a few days. Guys in the office were responsive and made sure I was satisfied with the job. The roof looks fantastic. If you want highly reliable, quality work, and good guys to deal with, I highly recommend this company.

Reroof on 03/12/2012- 1 of the work crew members were very Loud & Vulgar towards one another, causing Neighbors to come out and Complain.Kyle Maxwell-Owner was notified and took care of that problem. Our 1st Leak after New Roof was 06/2012-Kyle Maxwell came, spent 2.5hrs in attic trying to troubleshoot roof Leaking Problem-Kyle couldn't determine problem, but sent work crew back over to Nail Shingles on top of Shingles. Interior ceiling water Damage was never fixed,by Bigfoot roofing. 05/2016-Our 2nd Roof Leaking problem was noticed,John Conley came, investigated problem-3 weeks later after 3 phone calls and 2 emails,Robert was sent to determine Leak.Robert says it's the chimney cap leaking, they would need to order sheet metal to fix problem and reschedule another appt to fix. 3 weeks later,we contacted John Conley about having roof fixed,we are told that the roof Leak isn't there responsability and it would cost us additional to have fixed. This Leak is in the same area of the 1st Leak(roof valley wavy)but has Damaged Inner sheetrock ceiling of the next 2nd room over. Our OLD roof never leaked for 18 years, but since re-roof has been done on 03/12/2012 by Bigfoot, it leaked 3 months later and 37 months later-same area.

"Thanks for your review. I have pictures that were taken at the completion of the roof where the panels were not bent. I also have a picture of the bent panels which happens to be right below of where the solar panels were installed. The dents that you are referring to were not there when we left the roof. We still have your email address on file and will forward the pictures so that you can review them. Thanks."

The contractor was informative and thorough. The roof was done well. Only hang up was a few rose bushes were broken. That is understandable with any construction.

We have a case against them with the DEPARTMENT OF PROFESSIONAL REGULATIONS!  We are not at liberty to discuss anymore but it's KEN ON YOURSIDE WORTHY! We will be posting photos soon.

UPDATE 3-5-2016

Our response.

MR. Maxwell Please tell the consumers you only repainted one room out of 9 rooms. The paint you used for the trim is PROMAR 700 and not Sherwin Williams as stated in the contract.  WE BOUGHT THE TOUCH UP PAINT which your sub only painted a few things. Among other things as in unlicensed SUBCONTRACTORS,  debris left everywhere which caused an unsafe environment for my children. We have the photos and the documentation, and if it was just a case of unable to please us... WHY IS THE STATE INVESTIGATING YOU AND WHY DID YOU HAVE A MEETING WITH MRS. DOYLE WITH THE ST. JOHNS COUNTY CONTRACTORS DEPARTMENT OF PROFESSIONAL REGULATIONS. Which this time, you got a warning and you registered your business with them.  YOU DIDN'T PULL PERMITS FOR INTERIOR WORK!  We have the photos. And the texts and the emails
Response from Bigfoot Roofing & Construction Inc

"We have made several efforts to rectify the concerns that Mrs. [Member Name Removed] had and have found it impossible to satisfy her. We will always stand behind our work and will continue to do so. One example, is after we completed the interior painting, she told us that the paint was too shiny. So, we repainted the interior at no additional cost to her with a less glossy paint. We made several trips for touch ups but it was not enough.. As seen by our other reviews, our #1 priority is customer satisfaction and unfortunately we were unable to do so in this situation."

Response from Bigfoot Roofing & Construction Inc

"I apologize for the experience that you have had attempting to obtain an estimate from our company. The reason is only partly because there are generally older homes in those zip codes including other zip codes such as 32205, 32210, 32209, 32254. When you work on on older homes, our company is exposed to more liabilities such as lead paint, asbestos, etc. The more significant reason is that we have three salespersons who provide estimates to potential customers. The three salespersons live on the Southside, Fernandina Beach, & Middleburg. We have designated zip codes for each salesperson and they stay very busy and the Riverside/Downtown is not in close proximity to any of them. So we have spoken with several roofers that services that area and refer the customers to the roofers that we are not able to service. This also happens for outlying areas that we do not service as well. We will only refer companies who have an A rating on either the BBB or Angies list. The company referred to you has an A rating on the BBB. If you would like, you can call myself(the owner) for further explanation or if you have any questions at 904-219-2044 and once again I apologize for this occurrence."

Bigfoot Roofing?s team was professional from the estimate to completion of the job. A detailed estimate was forwarded to my email quickly. The roofers were punctual and respectful of our property. They were very polite and respectful toward my family. They worked very hard to complete the job in the 3 days promised while having to work around a rainstorm. After the job was complete the workers cleaned up all the debris from everywhere in the yard and hauled all debris off.
The roof looks great and I would (and already have) recommend this company to anyone.

Have called the number listed several times during business hours and left a voicemail to schedule a free estimate. No one has answered the phone or returned my phone call. I went to school with Kyles wife and he is highly recommended from other family members who have used his services. Disappointed that my first experience hasn't been a good one. Not sure if he can earn my business

"I apologize for the experience that you have had with our company. It is unacceptable for our company to not have responded within the same day. We would greatly appreciate a second opportunity to earn your business. Please call Kyle directly at 904-219-2044."

Job was great. Call 4 roofers, all A on Angies list, One would not do the roof.  The other two quoted the exact same job, same materials, same everything for between $27,000 & $29,000.00.  Guess who I went with.  Damien quoted the job and took us through the end of the job. Dailey clean up was done. Roof looks great. I would use them again.
