Big Chiefs Tire Co - Jacksonville

On 7/20/2016 I paid Big Chief $980.03 for new tires, as well as $117.69 for a 2-year alignment guarantee. Upon completion of this service the installation technician told me that three out of four of my wheels were bent with one being badly bent. So, I placed an order for new wheels to replace them. I emailed Steve and Lindsey for a quote to install my new wheels on Sunday, July 24th, 2016, as well as on Thursday, July 28th, 2016. I received no response from either about installing my new wheels. So I sent Big Chief a message on Facebook on Friday, July 29th, 2016. They quoted me $40 to put the new wheels on my car. Upon showing up Steve told me it was $80 and that he wouldn’t honor the price from HQ as according to him they failed to include the costs associated with managing the TPMS. So I agreed to the new price of $80 and told them to go ahead with the install anyway. Well, I waited 4.5 hours in the lobby for the install to be completed. It was 4 hours into waiting when the installation tech came out to tell me he may break one of the TPMS sensors trying to remove it. I told him to do his best and well, he broke it. I was shocked to find out that Steve, the manager at this location, wanted $80 for a new sensor and that included LABOR. Um, I just paid $80 instead of $40 because of labor for managing the TPMS. These same sensors can be bought online for $26. So they just lost years of business from me over $26. I even asked them if I bought four new sensors and brought them in would they charge me to install them, and the answer was YES. They didn’t even pay attention to detail – the center caps on my new wheels aren’t even symmetrical with each other. Yes, I do care about symmetry. I didn’t pay $750 for new wheels only for the installer to charge me $80 to break my TPMS and to lack attention to detail during the install. I’ll be filing a chargeback since they damaged my TPMS and the cost to perform these services would have been half of what they were without the TPMS.

Waiting time was almost three hours.  Pleased at the time.  Three months later I found one of the lug nuts on my garage floor which indicated to me that not all had been properly tightened.

I called gave them the tire spec, made an appointment, and they replaced the bad tire and rotated the others in 20 minutes.

They are great and I give them high ratings.

I've used them in the past and they come highly recommended form the auto mechanic I use. They treated me fair, there weren't any hidden charges or surprises. It's held up well and they did a quick job. I wasn't disappointed in any area.

Big Chief Tire did a good job. The only problem that I had with them is that they did not tell me that I was supposed to lock the brakes for my 4 wheel drive. Otherwise, I thought they did a great job. I would recommend them.

I appreciate that the work Big Chief Tire does stays done. I feel that they did an excellent job, that's why I keep going back there. They always explain what they are going to do for me.
