About us

DBA: B Langston Antiques, Langston's of San Marco Inc *** B. Langston’s is a well established auction, moving and estate sale company, which has been in business since 1978. As we know from being in a similar situation with my own mother and father, it is very hard emotionally, physically, not to mention a time consuming effort is required to liquidate a household. That’s where we can be part of a support team. The services we offer are a total package. From start to finish. From initial set up of the sale, to the final removal of all remaining items. Leaving you with a clean empty house.

This is a disreputable business. The conduct of their estate sales is unprofessional, their recordkeeping is a shambles, and they do not pay the property owners within the time allotted by the contract. They do not return calls or correspondence. Please save your family the frustration and sadness, and work with someone else.

I could not tell you the last time that I had such a bad customer service, that it warranted me writing up a bad review. I found this company to be incredibly unprofessional, rude, and uncommunicative. They have made an already stressful move into somewhat of a nightmare. I reached out to this company over three weeks ago regarding some items that I would like to sell off in preparation of my move. A gentleman showed up 20 days ago, looked at the items, and we agreed on a price. Since then, I have reached out to the company over 20 times to try to orchestrate a day for them to come and pick up the items. Out of the 20 days, I was only unavailable for three of those days because I was out of town. At one point during the text conversations, they said that it was my fault because I was never around. They had only once offered me a window for them to pick the items up, and it was on a morning that they knew that I was out of town. I have been very very patient with this company. But at this point I’m going to have to migrate to another company because I move it a week and these folks are not getting back to me at all at this point. I am incredibly discouraged and disheartened that they would show absolutely no sense of urgency in a situation where somebody is moving. I couldn’t imagine hiring these folks for an estate sale we are a family had lost a loved one and had to deal with this type of unprofessionalism.

How I wish I had been a member of Angie's List and saw the reviews prior to hiring these people to do our Estate Sales.  Please please reconsider hiring them.  Really don't do it.  They came across as professional and efficient on the front end, but they sold our items for ridiculously low prices.  We even selected the option that if something couldn't be sold, to please leave it and we would dispose of it.  We came home to clean and empty houses and were excited thinking everything had sold well.  No.  They cleared it out without an accounting of any of the details for what things sold for.  They presented a take it or leave it check at the end and with everything gone, what could you do??  When we questioned them about high ticket itmes, they said no one wanted them and they pretty much gave them away at the lowest offer so they could be sold.  The traffic generated was great though.  People were lined up out the door and had to be regulated to come inside--but where's the money to show for it all?  Two houses--over 13k square feet of furnishings indoor andd out (most of it brand new) and they snookered us big time.  So glad Angie's list can finally give us some justice by providing this review so you can avoid our mistake.

B. Langston threatened to take our Mother's house when we told them they were not telling the truth. To date they have not paid us one penny. They are hiding behind their Lawyer.  There is proof that Fraud was committed and the State DPBR is investigating for possible legal action. Since this has happened they have changed their Antique shop into an auction house. However they are still doing estate sales for poor unsuspecting people.

I'm just going to put a copy of a registered letter I sent to B. Langston after my mother's house was eventually mostly cleaned. See the following:
                                                                                                                                                    December 19, 2011
Mrs. Langston, I?m writing this letter to you to provide feedback regarding my customer satisfaction, or in this case an almost complete lack of satisfaction, with the results your business supplied to me as a client in December 2011. I cannot say with certianty that you were aware of how badly your company acted and performed but I assume you are because your name is on the top of your check right above one Anthony J. Grogan. This aforementioned person, who came into my house, looked me in the eye and shook my hand on a written and verbal promise that the contents of my recently deceased mother?s house would be cleaned out by 12/12/11. He even called this a ?Drop dead date? on that evening, the 2nd of December, 2011, saying that this was giving himself and your company enough time to do a complete and thourough job, although he may call me and do it sooner if circumstances permitted. I told him that would be great if it worked out because our realtor had several people to show the house to and the sooner he could clean the house out the better. I bought his and your sales pitch hook line and sinker, only to find out that your company is one that takes complete and total advantage of a person at a time when they are emotionally compromised by the recent passing of a loved one. The facts are as follows. I called Anthony on a Sunday afternoon, 12/11/11, to make sure that he had everything he needed from me to complete the job by the next day (the drop dead date) only to find out that he had not even started the job. He asked for more time and I gave him 24 hrs more and I asked him if he would call me when he was finished. He said that he would.   I never heard from this worthless individual again. My sister said that the garbage skid was finally removed on Thursday 12/15/11 and reported that the refrigerator still had rotten food in it and the kitchen sink cabinet had not been cleaned out and that there was still dust all over the office downstairs as well as the area where the freezers had been moved from was filthy. I would never recommend your company for any reason whatsoever.
I asked my sister to follow up with Anthony. She arranged for him to mail the keys to the house and 10 days later he still had not done so. To my knowledge he still has not done so & today is 12/27/2011. As a caveat, I would say hire these people at your peril and also get at least 2 or 3 bids. My mistake was to believe her BS as I was so emotionally cooked at the time.

The only way I got my deposit back was by taking them to court. They had already sold the house to someone else and still would not return the binder. Beware of doing business with Langston and Grogan. Extremely unethical business practices.

Poorly, sold immediately and had to be chased for funds. Made appointment to liquidate and never kept appointments. id this 3 times. Never returns messages. Anthony is the Operations Manager, husband of Barbara Langston who owns company. Liquidates with personal check account where he signs checks, but is not actually on the bank's signature card. Picked-up and sold 9mm pistol w/confirmed sale and still owes $375.00 - has not kept two appointments to pay-up and will not return calls.
