"Estimate 175, line 1 read as follows: Re-rough (2) lavatory waste arms, eliminate lead and transition to pvc. Hot & cold water piping, re-rough into wall with tie-in of outside hose bibb line Fred replaced the under cabinet piping as per code. The blockage you refer to, as explained, is an under the slab blockage and was not covered under the original scope of work as agreed to on line 1 of 4 of the original estimate. Of the 4 line items on the original estimate, you chose only to have the above slab piping in the master bath replaced. Once you made him aware of the below slab blockage, (which was not addressed on estimate 175 at all) Fred attempted to unblock the pipe and was unable to do so as there is hardened crystal drano in the galvanized pipe under the slab as outlined on Estimate 180. We submitted a reduced price estimate ($380) for the blockage to be resolved as cutting & removing concrete, removing and replacing the galvanized pipe and sweep were not covered in the original estimate. Again, we apologize for any misunderstanding concerning the scope of work you hired us to perform. We will let Fred's 28 years as a self-employed Master Plumber with no other complaints speak for itself."
