We started using Air Excellence in 2009. We purchased a new a/c compressor through him and he installed it. He communicates well and has a flexible schedule. We had estimates from about 5 places for this work. His prices weren't the lowest but they were very competitive. We use him regularly now for annual check ups on the a/c. We have dealt with numerous other properties and have always been satisfied with the pricing, work, and ease of transaction.

I contacted Air Excellence on 4/3/2012 about my A/C that wasn't cooling my house. I talked to the owner, Ron Lee, who came out to check my air conditioner within 2 hours as promised. He looked at the inside and outside A/C units and checked the coolant pressure which showed low. Ron then started checking for leaks in the system. He found a small leak in the "A" coil and then explained the situation and said it had to be replaced. Ron checked his supplier for a replacement "A" Coil who had it in stock. Luckily I had a 10 year parts warranty on my unit that was still in effect. Ron said he would pick-up the "A" coil and be back around 11 AM on 4/04/2012 to do the repair. Ron arrived on time and replaced the "A" Coil with a brand new unit. Within 3 hours he had finished the job and recharged the coolant in my A/C unit. He made a point to have me watch as he weighed his container of R-22 coolant and then weighed it again after topping the coolant off. R-22 coolant is very expensive now but Ron gave me an unexpected break on his price. He also made sure he cleaned up any trash laying around the work site. Ron was friendly and very knowledgable. He also gave me a lot of good advice on things I could do to keep my A/C unit in top condition. There were even a few small items that were caused by a previous services that Ron fixed for no charge. I will use Air Excellence for any future A/C problems and will also refer them to my friends and family. There is also a reasonable yearly a/c service they do in the spring of each year which I will intend to take advantage of.

Summary: Give them a call... they do phenomenal work. Ask for Jason and he'll hook you up with something good! My neighbor is an a/c tech and recommended a small outfit that hasn't been reviewed by Angies list. Jason was the sales rep and proposed a solution that was beyond my expectation. Though other companies just gave me a standard rip and replace solution (around 5200), Jason identified a way that the upstairs and downstair temperature would closely match. He suggested two new returns and replacing the old ducts to meet energy efficient ones. Also replaced some circuits and such. The combination meets the tax credit. He proposed 5400 but I bargained down to 5300 if I accepted the proposal. Since they are a small outfit, they gave me a phone number of a client they recently did work with. The client (I googled the name and they are active in a church in Ponte Vedra) had nothing but rave reviews for Jason and their crew. So called Jason to accept the proposal. On the day of the job, it went pretty smooth. Jason, Ronald and Jose ran a tight operation from 8am and it ended around 3pm. 1 hour before their projected end time. They didn't mind my questioning of what they were doing. They also put drop clothes in the work areas and cleaned up really well afterwards. They really seemed "passionate" about a/c and my a/c tech neighbor swung on by saying man that's awesome work. I was so pleased that I paid Jason the full asking price because they did a great job. On the next business day, they sent me the warranty from Trane. And showed me how to do the paperwork to get the energy credits from Beaches Energy. My home now is very comfortable than before and I feel that the temperature now is evenly distributed between both floors. They do great work!
