Jeff Howard was a flooring installer for over 20 years. In 1999, I opened up Affordable Carpet and Wood. My business is a "word of mouth" business and a majority of the work comes from referrals. Jeff Howard and his team were outstanding. Professional, knowledgeable, helpful. Best pricing. And the installers Nick and Randy were excellent - the flooring looks perfect. It was a very big flooring project (part of a whole house renovation) and they totally delivered. A nearby interior design company used Affordable for their floors - that's how I discovered them in the first place. I am entirely pleased with Affordable Carpet & Wood! Highly recommended.

The process is always messy but the crew made it as pleasant as possible. Love the new floors and it was worth it! Jeff and Debbie are easy to work with. They are good at communicating and respond to your questions quickly. They also have a nice showroom.

Fantastic experience! Jeff , the owner, met us at his store and was a great help in helping us through the carpet choice. Jeff was extremely patient in answering every question we posed. He lent us some type/color samples so that we could compare at home. A few days later, he came out to our home to measure and get our final decision as to carpet selection. The carpet installation went great. The installer, Abraham, was careful and respectful, hard-working and quite a perfectionist. This whole experience was fantastic and I highly recommend Jeff and Affordable Carpet & Wood for any flooring needs you may have!

I called them to see if they could secure the same wood we had in the living areas, as we did not like carpet (which was in the model home we purchase). Debbie, the office manager, was very kind and helpful. The owner, Jeff, promptly called me back and made sure he found the exact flooring we needed. He came out and measured, offered us a wonderful price and completed the job in a timely manner. His installers were prompt, courteous, hard-working and reliable (which is not easy to find these days). Jeff and Debbie both called to make sure everything was to my satisfaction. I am very impressed with this company and highly recommend.

Visited 3 flooring places of business. Got 3 estimates on my job. Decided to go with Jeff and Affordable Carpet & Floors because of excellent showroom inventory and straight forward honesty of Jeff the owner who also came out and worked up the estimate. He is a very likable person who I trusted with my job. His installation crew arrived every morning about 8:30. The job they did was outstanding. They finished on the morning of the 4th day as furniture was moved back in place. They cleaned up every day before the left. I could not be more satisfied.

Affordable Carpet was recommended by a friend. We decided to purchase our flooring from them (we were doing the install ourselves) because we wanted the attention and expertise of a small business, something you can't always find in the big box stores. Unfortunately the flooring that we purchased was not what we were looking for, it was sold as "floating" but in actuality needed to be glued or nailed; a misrepresentation by the manufacturer. Something I feel a knowledgable flooring company would see through. We had to pay a $90 freight charge (explained to us at purchase) plus a 25% restocking fee, which I couldn't find stated anywhere on the website or in the terms and condition and was never explained to us. Basically, $420 for nothing. The gentleman who helped us was kind and understanding so I really have no complaint with the company just wanted others to be aware of the cost of returning something.

They were here on-time every day, always communicated there activities, always ensured that we were happy with everything before leaving each day. We dealt with Jeff Howard, the owner, who came out promptly to measure our home.Once we decided on the engineered wood flooring we would be using Jeff work skillfully around our schedule, carefully organizing the removal of existing tile and carpeting and the installation of the new materials. Jeff went beyond our expectations in expediting our installation around our move-in schedule. The demo crew worked neatly, leaving our home very clean. The installers also worked very neatly with the job site left very clean each day. Our floors are beautiful and we would highly recommend Affordable Carpet and Wood. Jeff, along with his crews, made the process very easy.

From the estimate to the installation, Jeff was responsive, professional, and very helpful. The crew that completed the work was awesome. We researched quite a few companies for this project, and read all the reviews for several top-rated firms on Angie's List, including Affordable Carpets. This company was also highly recommended by close friends of ours, who have hired them for several projects over the last few years.
Jeff (owner) was very easy to work with. This was our first hardwood flooring project, and as a result we had many, many questions. He was professional and patient with us as he walked us through the details of the project.
He came to the house and measured the job, then submitted his proposal on a timely basis. While his was not the least expensive bid, he was very competitive and by far the most professional and accommodating of the 4 companies which came to bid on the job, so we decided to hire his company - and we are not disappointed.
Prior to starting the job, he brought an installer, Randy, out to check on, and develop a solution for, an unusual flooring detail. They worked around our schedules and we agreed upon a starting date. Randy was here on the date we agreed to. He is also very professional and easy to work with. He answered questions and was very flexible with our schedules.
Randy really knows what's involved with this work... he seems very experienced and we're glad - while this project was not huge, it was complex. There were 2 hallways, with 11 doorways to deal with. There were also several unusual angles for the wood flooring and trim, and Randy also trimmed the flooring to work well with some existing carpeting, ceramic tile and coquina/stone tile. There were also 2 areas where we wanted the wood floor boards turned 90 degrees, and he did that, too. The end result: the finished product is just wonderful.
The project was completed in a timely manner, and we are thrilled with our new floors. We have already discussed the next project with Jeff, a carpeting job, and will hire them for this in the near future. We are pleased to recommend this company to those looking for a professional and competent team, and a finished job to be proud of.
