Buddy Rohn and Mike Waters formed A Crown Roofing, and have been doing top notch work together for the last 15 years. We are Florida natives born and raised in Jacksonville FL. work completed in a timely manner especially considering all the hurricane damaged roofs- it was not an insurance job and had been quoted before the storm
workers showed up each day and were polite and kept a clean worksite
two issues were reported however it took a couple of weeks for Crown to respond
there was a row of shingles that were at least two inches out of line and also all the gutters were full of roofing debris.
An employee came and fixed the out line shingles however did NOT clean out the gutters. Only took the debris I had cleaned as he was not told to clean them. No one called to see if we were satisfied and no on has come to clean the gutters.
Very disappointed since this was a an expensive project and thought I had picked a good company.
Unfortunately I did not have a good experience with this provider. My roof was replaced in 2013 and soon after began to have problems. They were responsive the first time with a leak in the garage, shortly after installation. Approximately 3 years later they were called about a leak in the chimney and this is when the problem started. They came out and sent a representative who agreed the flashing was incorrect and found several other problems with the roof. I never heard back and ultimately was told that individual was no longer with the company. I then saw a guy on the roof attempting to calk around the problem but that was not sufficient. They added flashing but again the leak was not resolved and the other issues were never addressed. Ultimately they stopped responding to my calls and I had to contact the warranty company.
The warranty company sent two independent inspectors and their own and ultimately determined that the entire roof needed to be replaced and did so shortly before hurricane Matthew. The other issues included inferior spacing of nails, incorrect number of nails in shingles pursuant to guidelines and nails in the waterline which would ultimately rust and cause leaking.
The warranty company had no response from A Crown when attempting to resolve the issue and made the decision unilaterally to replace the roof.
A Crown disputes each and every allegation. Be that as it may I simply did not want another homeowner to have to go through this bad experience.
"[member name removed] is correct in her statments. We did show up late to do her repair. Our service manager quit without telling anyone. It took us a week to figure out what had happen and to call eveyone to reshedlue. We made it to her home a day after her scheduled appointment and completed her repair. We have appoligized to Ms Goff and did not charge her for the repair. We offered her a two year maintenance plan at no charge. We have installed processes that will assure this will not happen again."
Installation went smoothly and the installers were efficient and very careful to make sure no damage was done to our landscaping. I was especially appreciative of their thorough cleanup after the job was done. I would highly recommend this company!!!!
The work was done in a day and a half by a group of workers that seemed very experienced and working in unison. Cleaning was done efficiently and the two problems that arose were taken care of by Mr. Waters immediately. Very happy with the job.
