LEE & CATES GLASS, INC. FIRST OPENED ITS' DOORS IN 1926. OUR FOUNDERS, THOMAS D. LEE, SR. AND RAYMOND H. CATES WERE BROTHERS-IN-LAW. MR. CATES WAS MARRIED TO MR. LEE'S SISTER. BOTH OF THESE MEN MOVED THEIR FAMILIES FROM GEORGIA TO FLORIDA WHERE THEY OPENED THE ORIGINAL STORE, WHICH WAS LOCATED ON ADAMS STREET IN JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA.LEE & CATES GLASS WAS FORMED AS A SERVICE PROVIDER FOR THE GROWING AUTO INDUSTRY. WHILE THIS IS STILL A PRIMARY THRUST IN OUR BUSINESS, OUR COMPANY IS MUCH, MUCH MORE! AS A FULL SERVICE GLASS COMPANY, WE PROVIDE SERVICE IN AUTO GLASS, RESIDENTIAL GLASS, AND COMMERCIAL GLASS. CURRENTLY, WE SERVE NORTH FLORIDA AND SOUTH GEORGIA IN 19 LOCATIONS AND WE'RE GROWING. IN ADDITION, WE ARE A MAJOR WHOLESALE DISTRIBUTOR FOR AUTO GLASS AND FLAT GLASS. The tension rods and clasps in several windows were broken and needed to be replaced. I was considering doing the work myself, but when I researched the cost of the replacement parts vs what Lee and Cates would charge to do the whole job with all parts and labor included, it was an easy decision to hire them. I was not dissapointed. From the initial estimate to the finishing the job, Lee and Cates did an excellent and very professional job.
