In 1970 after working as a Manager and Trouble Shooter for 14 years at another Pest Control Company, J.D. Smith Sr. founded the J.D. SMITH COMPANY. Beginning in Pinellas County, Mr. Smith and his partner soon expanded their operations to cover West-Central Florida. Their offices included Pinellas, Hillsborough, Pasco, Hernando, Polk, Citrus, Levy, Lake, Sumter and Marion counties. From a small beginning of two people, the company now employs over seventy full time trained staff members. As required by the State of Florida, each office has one or more Certified Operators. These operators are fully certified in all phases of Pest Control, administrated by the Department of Entomology of Florida. J.D. SMITH COMPANIES are incorporated under the laws of the State of Florida, fully insured, and licensed.
