I hired Mathew Hester to appraise my home prior to sale. He refused to include square footage of a study and pool bath because it was only accessible from pool area. He was rather rude about it.I got an appraisal from a different appraiser (who couldn't believe this guy) which was $15K higher, and the home sold for $20K over his appraisal value. Don't use him! Doesn't know what he's doing.

Matthew was professional, courteous and accommodating in performing two appraisals back-to-back at times convenient to the property manager and tenants to minimize the time they needed to take from their respective jobs to allow access to the properties. Doing so also allowed him to give a good quote on his services, as he was able to perform his work in short order with one principal contact going straight from one property to the next. He also easily accommodated the need for the appraisals to be as of a specific date in the past, in order for them to be used as a Fair Market Valuation for a legal report. His work products were provided quickly in electronic format, as desired, and met all needs and expectations.
