"In response to the above complaint from contract dated 05/18/21... Unfortunately in my almost 50 years in this business and others. I run into customers who are at best difficult to satisfy. In reference to the complaint. Mr. [Member Name Removed] signed a contract for a screen room. He inspected his pavers with one of my men. We all agreed it looked like he had a footing under the existing pavers. Before moving forward I was not 100% comfortable, so I gave Mr. [Member Name Removed] the name of the county official to get more input and said if your not comfortable to move forward your money is fully refundable. Mr. [Member Name Removed] said move forward, pay for sealed engineering, layout and site plan as a package which has significant costs involved, of which he was fully made aware of . In addition there is a clause in the contract signed , that states the fees are non refundable. My contract cancellation fees are $250.00 office time exhausted 6 hours to prepare documents for permit, site plan and survey plus many other factors pertaining to the permit process. Additional costs of $395.00 for sealed engineering and design costs. In the very beginning I told Mr. [Member Name Removed] I would do all the above , all he had to do was go to the county and drop off the permit. I proceeded and moved forward with Mr. [Member Name Removed] approval. I didn't want to take responsibility for anything to do with the pavers, Mr. [Member Name Removed] is trying to say falsehoods to blemish my companies reputation. Finally my company absorbed over $650.00 in actual cost and engineering of $395.00. We refunded all but engineering which he left at county ."
"in response to said review, [Member Name Removed] called my company from a referral. He asked me on an urgent basis to replace his rotted out aluminum pan roof gutter which was full of debris and leaking at a split overtop of his brand new a/c unit thus damaging it. He needed 2 new 3x4 commercial grade downspouts at 10' along with new roll form aluminum pan roof gutter totaling $615.00 for a contract date of 4-8-2020. [Member Name Removed] was told the price of $615.00 plus a 4% credit card administration fee or to mail a check. I trusted him. What a mistake that was. As of 5-6-2020 i have still not recieved a check. We sent digital photos several weeks ago. He said he would mail a check. He finally answered his phone after over 2 weeks by text. I finally talked to him and he said he was away on business for about a month. I still havent recieved a check. If i knew he would not pay for a month i would have said to pay the fee or to get someone else to install. Let me be clear, when we asked for a credit card payment, i told him i would eat the fee. He then said that he forgot his wallet at home while away on business for a month. This man is a liar. This is not about the money. People like this are outrageous. I did not use the F bomb. Simply put, he dosent want to pay for said work. and yes, Florida does have lien laws to protect both contractors and customer. This will be my first time in over 40 years in business that ive met someone like this clown. While under COVID 19 we have to wait until the appropriate time. This whole thing is ridiculous. I remain, Frank Sanna President of Discount Aluminum"

"In response to the above stated complaint. The Landlord/Owner of this property in our opinion is a slum out of state landlord. The reason we were contracted to do the job was because she was in violation for hiring unlicensed contractor(s) to build an illegal screen room which was condemened/fined by the local building department and was torn down by others. We came in after the fact, and did what we always do meet with the homeowner, come to agreement in writing, pull a permit, have the job final inspected and collect payment for a job well done. This job was no different, except for the fact the homeowner was beyond difficult to deal with. At Discount Aluminum it is always our intent to do what we can to make the customer happy but unfortunetly she was never happy. The screen door she is referring to was put in the exact place it was suppose to be per her engineered drawings and permit. The gap underneath her door was due to the fact her existing concrete slab has over 3" of pitch which can only be corrected by breaking out the existing concrete and starting over, she did not want to do that due to cost. The two buildings the aluminum pan roof is attached to is connected on two sides (structure to structure). The garage/house was found to be 8" out of square but we were still able to complete the job. The inspector saw nothing wrong with the workmanship or construction of the job and found the owner's complaint to be bogus and without merrit, furthermore she then accused the county official of being paid off. In closing we did what we agreed to in writing and did our best to service any issues that were construction related per our warranty. It is clear to us that we can not make this customer happy, and it is her obvious intention to smear our good name, we can not stand idlely by and be abused in this manner, customer demands such as free screen doors, and countless extra(s) not listed on her contract are just not in our business model. We are a family owned and operated business for 35 years, because we do good quality work at an affordable price with most of our jobs coming from refferals from other satisfied customers"
