I found them on "The Flyer" and picked them because of the free estimate. I tell him I'm only looking for quotes. He gets here and tells me that he has this special camera that most plumbers don't have but it will tell him real fast what is going on down there. It's really expensive equipment. So he proceeds to use it and tell me all the things that are wrong. My options are spending $1100 to fix them all or $600 to fix the immediate problem. So I thank him for his time and remind him I only called him out for quote and he was the first person that came out and I had a second company coming out. THEN he tells me, well just for using my camera, he has to charge me $350. I pointed out that he did not tell me he was going to charge me to use his camera. At the time that he realized he needed the camera to find out what the problem was, he should have told me and I could have made a decision. Long story short, after some going back and forth, I paid him to fix the immeidate issue because I was afraid another plumber would come out and do the same thing to me. But now I know to tell anyone that comes out to give me estimates to tell me if and when I'll incur an expense for an "estimate". I am actually trying to have the work redone because I was told the work was not complete. After they did the work I was still having back-up issues three days later in the home. The shower is over flowing, the toliet is over flowing, and all of this has caused addition damage and cost to the house.
